Chapter 1801: The Demonic Teacher Tathagata | Red Heart Survey [Translation]
Red Heart Survey [Translation] - Updated on May 1, 2025
As the words were spoken, the Divine Seal Scripture, initially crafted by Zhuang Chengqian disguised as Jiang Yan and later augmented after passing Yin Guan’s stringent examination and having its original imprint erased, found its place upon the Grand Illusionary Realm’s Platform of Performance.
In the time that followed, as Jiang Wang’s cultivation deepened, he, too, contributed to this scripture’s refinement. Yet, the foundational structure of the technique remained largely that which Zhuang Chengqian had laid down.
Truly, the vision of Grand Ancestor Zhuang was extraordinary.
For a considerable period, however, this scripture had only been employed upon the forms of Du Gu Xiao and Song Wanxi. And only with Du Gu Xiao, a devout believer in Jiang Wang, could the seal truly flourish in tandem with him.
The Divine Seal Scripture’s capacity to act independently, even to the extent of a deity descending to enact its will, only became truly manifest after achieving the Divine Arrival realm.
However, Jiang Wang had never been one to favor controlling others through techniques. He had not anticipated that its frequent application would unexpectedly unfold within the demon realm.
At this very moment, a fleeting divine gaze—
Opposite stood a lean, tall monk, his head adorned with a black lotus pattern, his body clad in monastic robes. His blade techniques were honed to an extreme, and he now held his戒刀 (jie dao – precept blade) face-on, poised to deliver the final blow!
Pig Dalu’s blade momentum had long since been shattered, his stout and sturdy demon body frozen rigid by spells. The small alley was eerily silent in the night.
Just at this instant,
That gleaming, snow-white precept blade reflected the scene. Within the wide, enraged eyes of Pig Dalu, a frosty Divine Seal leaped forth, its outline taking shape, releasing a surge of divine light!
A wisp of exceptionally fine, frost-white wind, born directly from that Divine Seal—with Jiang Wang’s current divine power cultivation and the might of the Divine Seal, he could only remotely project this minuscule breath of divine power wind, yet it was more than sufficient.
Pig Dalu’s originally dull eyes instantly filled with hope. He gripped the blocking hand that held the blade and ceased its movement, uttering only a low cry: “Slay gods and exterminate ghosts, the world at peace!”
At this moment, he completely relinquished control of his body.
The will descended from the Peaceful Divine Wind Seal, taking possession of this form.
Blade light abruptly soared.
The world had already changed!
The Peaceful Double Straight Knives blazed in the dark alley.
A continuous clang and clash, fierce blade edges colliding madly within a mere square inch.
The same body, the same demon soldier-level cultivation, yet at this moment, it erupted with absolute brilliance!
One blade horizontally blocked the precept blade, the other forced the enemy back.
A step forward, the right blade splitting open the tall monk’s blade stance.
And the left blade slanted out, forcing him to turn aside.
The right blade then followed the momentum, sweeping horizontally—
That wisp of frost wind, twirling precisely upon the blade edge, directly severed the monk’s precept blade that had been urgently erected before his neck, shattered the black Buddha light, and swept across his neck, severing his head!
It was the swiftness of a rabbit’s leap and a falcon’s strike, all within a single instant.
The bone-white, bald head adorned with the black lotus pattern rolled and rolled continuously in the dark alley.
The will from the Peaceful Divine Wind Seal receded like a tide. Pig Dalu remained silent for a time, though he had regained himself, he did not move.
This feeling…
This sensation of a true strong one…
To speak of it, it was just a few simple blade strikes, his body only shifted slightly a few times, but each step was precisely at the crucial point, without an iota of wasted movement.
This unparalleled grasp of battle opportunity, this display that completely penetrated the limits of this body, this absolute world-level blade technique that seemed clumsy in its mastery… truly captivated him!
The opposite side, that black lotus monk who had already reached the demon general level, moments ago was still a fierce god, a malevolent spirit, delivering lethal blade strikes, yet within mere breaths, victory turned to defeat, and he was chopped dead on the spot.
His head rolled to a stop only now, his expression not even having time to register pain, only a trace of shock that had not yet had time to dissipate.
To think, he likely didn’t understand why he lost, why he died!
Gazing at the head engraved with a third-grade black lotus, Pig Dalu sighed endlessly.
This is the world of the strong… When I planted the Peaceful Divine Wind Seal, I was already destined for a life of bloody wind and rain, a life long beyond the ordinary.
The Peaceful Way, the Peaceful Way, for the peace of the world, what regret do I, Pig Dalu, have for this body!
We, the followers of the Peaceful Way, chase the stars and catch the moon, long travelling the dark night!
“Still not gone?” This fellow was immersed for too long. The Peaceful Dao Master finally could bear it no more, transmitting his voice through the Peaceful Divine Wind Seal.
“Oh, oh!” Pig Dalu then awoke as if from a dream. He changed his face covering cloth again, covering his large face. He inserted his double knives back and hurriedly departed.
His figure had just vanished at the alley mouth when a sweep of firelight appeared.

Everything, including the monk’s corpse, was incinerated.
After about a quarter of an hour, that pale red moonlight seemed to dim slightly.
At the end of the dark alley, a burly figure appeared, its foot two *zhang* (a unit of length) in size.
Pig Dalu’s figure was already very fat and large, but if compared with this demon, he would be like an infant to a burly man.
This burly man, who squeezed into the dark alley, wore a hood on his head and a wide monastic robe on his body. His burly frame was like a horizontal wall, slowly pushing its way from where the head had been. His movements were without sound upon the ground, nor did he step on and break several bricks, yet he gave bystanders a feeling of the world being stirred and overturned.
“He was here.”
His voice was like the sound muffled in a stone jar, carrying a circle of low, echoing sound.
His footsteps stopped there, and he lifted his head to look at the color of the moon: “He finally disappeared in this place.”
From within the shadows of the wall corner appeared the outline of a demon body. It bowed its head and clasped its palms together towards the burly man: “Honored One, we have already searched thoroughly within three *li* (a unit of distance) in all directions, and have found nothing.”
The burly man draped in the monastic robe had a pair of unusually compassionate eyes. He bowed his head, looking at the ground: “My Buddha’s awareness tells me that he has perished, and precisely in this place. But my eyes cannot find back a single trace. Ghost Crowd, why do you say this is?”
The demon within the shadows had only the general term “Ghost Crowd,” and did not even have a name of its own. Yet, it showed not the slightest dissatisfaction, remaining very respectful: “Could it have been exterminated by the local security office?”
The burly man shook his head: “Not the security office. The security office would not handle it so cleanly. Furthermore, my Black Lotus Temple preaches in Mo Yun City… who would dare to exterminate?”
His voice was low at first, but as he spoke the last four characters, it suddenly rippled outwards, spreading in this dark night, carrying a strong confidence that was a slap in the face to the officials of Mo Yun City.
Leaving aside that Lady Sky Spider was currently suffering from heavy injuries, even if she were at full strength, how much support could Mo Yun City garner, how much ability and courage would it possess to dare to be an enemy of the Black Lotus Temple?
Indeed, the cities and states of the world are all governed by the Ancient Imperial City, and all receive the protection and support of the Ancient Imperial City, but can the Ancient Imperial City look after Mo Yun City day and night?
The Black Lotus Temple, let alone frequently killing a city lord or the chief officer of the Mo Yun City security office, would likely not cause too much backlash.
And earlier, the one preaching in Mo Yun City was only a Ghost Child Arhat of extremely weak strength. This level of preaching was fundamentally below the bottom line of various city states, and would absolutely not trigger a fierce confrontation.
In this prosperous world, gods and ghosts are greatly prosperous, and myriad sects converge.
Those official fellows, behind how many statues of gods do they bow, who knows?
According to reason, the Ghost Child Arhat preaching in Mo Yun City should not have met with an accident.
From an internal perspective, he himself had many years of preaching experience, knew discretion, and would not make things too unsightly, nor would he embarrass the rulers of Mo Yun City.
From an external perspective, those who knew the name of the Black Lotus Temple would inevitably not dare to meddle in the matter of preaching; those who did not know the Black Lotus Temple would likely not have the ability to deal with it either.
But sometimes, worldly affairs have no rhyme or reason.
The demon within the shadows clasped its palms in respect, bowing its head and not speaking.
The burly man, his head concealed by the hood, carefully examined the arrangement of bricks on the ground, then shook his head again: “Too clean. Body and soul are gone, not even half a trace remains. Not many forces are capable of doing things so cleanly, and even fewer dare to oppose the Black Lotus Temple.”
The core disciples of the Black Lotus Temple were few, and each one was precious. To lose one was a great loss. This loss was far heavier than the loss of a Ghost Child Arhat’s statue.
Thus, he was extremely pained in his heart, but his voice showed no emotion.
“Could it be… not targeting us?” The voice within the shadows suddenly said.
“How so?”
“The Ghost Child Arhat met with an accident. The scene only bore the four characters ‘Peaceful Ghost Messenger’. For the time being, we do not know if this is one demon or an organization.” The voice within the shadows said: “Master Pang came here earlier to investigate. The one he was watching was a demon merchant in the black market specializing in selling intelligence. He pried some information from that fellow’s mouth and began to set up an ambush and track, until he disappeared today…
I checked the intelligence records. In the recent underground world of Mo Yun City, every few days, there is a masked fellow who goes to the black market demon merchant to buy intelligence related to various sects. Not long after buying intelligence each time, the corresponding evil god would be *fú zhū* (captured and executed), and the scene would always leave the four characters ‘Peaceful Ghost Messenger’.

The masked fellow who buys intelligence is different each time. Some are gamblers with red eyes, some are drunkards staggering from intoxication, and some are simply pulled from the roadside and forced to buy intelligence with a knife at their throats.
Master Hu found many targets, but without exception, they all claimed not to know who had instructed them.
The existence represented by that Peaceful Ghost Messenger is clearly very experienced in concealment, not the first time doing this kind of thing. We can trace records from other cities and might find similar events.
Of course, Master Hu is Master Hu after all. He still used his own methods to track the target. It’s a pity he was too confident, or perhaps the matter happened too suddenly, leading to the information being transmitted too late. He didn’t wait for our support.”
The voice within the shadows paused for a while, then continued: “I think that Peaceful Ghost Messenger might not be targeting us. But targeting sects, targeting all sects except the orthodox sects, which is to say… the so-called evil gods!”
“Orthodox sects?” The burly man coldly laughed.
The demon standing within the shadows, of course, knew where the burly man’s hostility came from, but did not dwell on this, only saying again: “Furthermore, Peaceful Ghost Messenger leaves their name at the scene each time they slaughter a god. But this time, they did not. Could there still be a possibility… that the existence Master Pang tracked this time was not Peaceful Ghost Messenger, but another strong one lurking in this city?”
“Regardless of whether this time it was Peaceful Ghost Messenger or not, and regardless of whether that Peaceful Ghost Messenger is a god or a ghost, having provoked our Black Lotus Temple, they are all dead for sure this time.” The burly man said in a low voice: “This method of destroying corpses and leaving no trace is so high-level. The murderer is definitely not doing this for the first time. Spread the word to investigate and see if there have been similar situations in Mo Yun City recently.”
The outline of the demon body within the shadows gradually sank back into the shadows, only a residual voice lingering in the dark alley: “Ghost Crowd respectfully receives the superior’s order.”
The Buddhist Gate has the Eight Divisions of Heaven and Dragon.
First is the Heavenly crowd, second the Dragon crowd, third the Yaksha, fourth the Gandharva, fifth the Asura, sixth the Garuda, seventh the Kinnara, and eighth the Mahoraga.
The orthodox Buddhist Gate in the demon realm, naturally located at Ancient Nan Mountain, also called “orthodox sects” today, is one of the existences recognized by the Ancient Imperial City.
There are no dragons in this world, so Ancient Nan Mountain replaces the Dragon crowd with the Snake crowd, also calling it the Eight Divisions of Heaven and Dragon.
The Black Lotus Temple, from its establishment, has contended with Ancient Nan Mountain and possesses its own Eight Divisions of Ghosts and Gods.
First is the Ghost crowd, second the God crowd, third the Rakshasa, fourth the Kumbhanda, fifth the Pishacha, sixth the Apasmara, seventh the Kama, and eighth the Mrtyu!
Although the demon within the shadows was humble in attitude before the burly man, he was a genuine first-class existence within the Eight Divisions of the Black Lotus Temple.
Waiting until the shadows had completely dissipated, the burly man stood silently in the dark alley for a while. He took off his hood, revealing a very conspicuous bald head, engraved with a black six-grade lotus platform.
His eyes were compassionate, but his face was full of fierce flesh, displaying a ferocious appearance, yet he had two tufts of comical mouse whiskers… This caused his entire face to fall into a kind of natural contradiction.
At this moment, towards that same sect who had already vanished from this world, he bowed his head, his expression sorrowful and pitying. He clasped his palms before his chest and chanted: “Namo Demon Master Tathagata!”
Lurking in the black night of Mo Yun City, Pig Dalu skillfully employed some minor techniques transmitted by the Peaceful Dao to erase traces and shake off possible tracking.
These secret methods were not complex, some not even involving Dao Origin, yet they were repeatedly effective. From certain aspects, they also proved the foundation of the Peaceful Dao.
The mysterious and unfathomable Peaceful Dao Master was fundamentally not skilled in concealment before. At first, he traveled the world with a piece of concealment clothing, and later used the Red Makeup Mirror and the Calamity Fight Seal interchangeably.
But after multiple exchanges with King Qin Guang of the Door to Hell, he had gained something. Yin Guan, after all, was an expert in killing people, robbing goods, and destroying corpses and leaving no trace. The business level of the Door to Hell was also quite solid.
Those methods applied in the present world could be slightly modified for use in the demon realm. Of course, the Peaceful Reverse Master did not claim credit, specifically stating that these hidden methods were creations of the same sect.
Pig Dalu always believed that behind him was a powerful organization, hidden in the darkness, taking it upon itself to uphold justice and save and teach the demon race, inherited over many years and months, always guarding the vast land under the Red Moon.
He thereby developed a strong sense of honor, and indeed, he had gained too much and learned too much in this organization, and was still rapidly growing.

In the midst of it.
And the battle-hardened Peaceful Dao Master, exchanging words with Pig Dalu along the way, then roughly grasped what had happened today—their journey of slaying gods and exterminating ghosts had clearly hit a snag.
The evil Buddha organization exterminated in the previous days was not just some casually encountered evil god; there was an extremely powerful force behind it.
This organization possessed powerful intelligence capabilities, capable of rapidly tracking the whereabouts of the Peaceful Ghost Messenger. And daring to act openly in Mo Yun City, one could say they fundamentally disregarded the security office—that monk who had been beheaded and whose corpse was destroyed had rampantly killed quite a few innocent small demons in the process of pursuing Pig Dalu.
It was very obvious that the “Peaceful Dao Master,” who had appeared with a profound and mysterious image, was bound by the fixed concepts of the present world. He still thought that the evil cults in the demon realm were like those in the present world, only hiding here and there, completely unable to see the light, and thus treated the sweeping extermination of evil gods as a safe and relaxed meal. He fundamentally did not think that the evil cults in the demon realm could be so arrogant, could develop to this scale.
He increasingly clearly recognized how vast this world was, and how brilliant a culture and history it had already nurtured. The present world was the center of myriad realms, the main body of various heavens, but it could not necessarily summarize everything.
Of course, in the eyes of our “Peaceful Ghost Messenger,” the immeasurable foundation of the Peaceful Dao is fearless!
The slogan “Slay gods and exterminate ghosts, the world at peace,” meant “We of the Peaceful Dao are for the peace of the world, and whoever we want to kill, we kill.”
Additionally, he fundamentally did not know what that black lotus represented. After all, before receiving the “Peaceful Treasure Blade Record,” he was just a small underling mixing life in Flower Street, only a bit stronger than Chai A Si…
Speaking of that Chai A Si, he had not shown his prowess in the past. To think that his family’s inherited technique was unexpectedly so powerful, even participating in several rounds of the Jin Yang Martial Arts Tournament.
Pig Dalu examined himself and realized that if he had not used the Peaceful Divine Wind Seal, he would not have been able to defeat that fellow.
The Peaceful Dao is an organization of justice. He of course would not covet Chai A Si’s family’s inherited technique. He was just curious about the grudges and hatreds that Chai A Si might be involved in with the Mo Yun Dog Family.
Although from the day he received the seal, he was already destined to be a nightwalker, he had some spectator psychology towards the prestigious families on the surface…
“Something big is going to happen in Mo Yun City. You are to seal your blade for one month. Wait for my order.” Jiang Wang did not care what Pig Dalu was thinking, directly gave a clear command, then released the Divine Seal and returned to his own.
And the fat Pig Dalu only sighed softly on the long street with the biting spring cold. This sigh was for the common people, for the unfortunate commoners of Mo Yun City—
This seat seals his blade for a month, allowing those demons and ghosts to rampage. Who knows how many families in this city will weep, how many families will resent.
The wind swept by.
He shivered, lifted the door curtain, and squeezed into the noisy Old Ape Wine House.
