He sought no merit, no reward, no treasure. All he wanted was to return completely intact, to cling to his Heavenly Demon Grandpa’s thigh.
But he was utterly immobile. The chasm in power was absolute, insurmountable by will alone. His body was continuously being destroyed and reformed, while his consciousness collapsed even before his physical form.
But who, exactly, had killed him? This final doubt echoed in his heart, a solitary lament, and then dissipated. Just as he had briefly shone, only to ultimately be judged a ‘fool’ in the grand tapestry of life.
At this moment, this giant ape stood a hundred *zhang* high, as majestic as a mountain peak, like a new summit rising upon a divine range, and still it grew! All the divine radiance within the entire Ten Thousand Gods Sea converged endlessly upon him!
Before the Bronze Tripod, Deer Seven Lang stood in silent contemplation. Indeed! A grandmaster of the game was borrowing the Ten Thousand Gods Sea to make his move!
He had been prepared for the Divine Firmament Bureau early on. The sudden inspiration in that ordinary inn and Feather Letter’s clumsy performance in Flying Cloud Tower had merely made his entry seem more logical.
