The bounty missions offered by Blaze Guild’s Dark Hall are categorized into various types, such as protection, mercenary, and assassination. Among these, assassination missions undoubtedly offer the highest bounties.
“Let’s look at the ones with high bounties,” Luo Feng said, drinking wine as he studied the assassination missions.
The top-ranked bounty mission: Eliminate ‘Molixiao’, Supreme Commander of the Huyang Legion, with a bounty of 1.2 million Cosmic Sand.
“To be able to offer a 1.2 million Cosmic Sand bounty and not fear the City Lord’s Mansion, it’s highly likely to be the Devourer Kingdom,” Luo Feng speculated. “According to the rules of Blaze Guild’s Dark Hall, bounties for assassination missions must be paid to the guild in advance. If the mission isn’t completed, the bounty remains with the Blaze Guild! Without substantial backing, one wouldn’t be willing to leave such a huge sum of wealth there indefinitely.”
The second-ranked bounty mission: Eliminate ‘Blood Cloud’, leader of the Devourer Kingdom’s forces within Huyang City, with a bounty of 1 million Cosmic Sand.
The third-ranked bounty mission: Eliminate ‘Zhuhugu’, leader of the Zhu Clan, with a bounty of 530,000 Cosmic Sand.
The fourth-ranked bounty mission: Eliminate ‘Chunyu Yi’, Master of the Puppet Shadow Tower, with a bounty of 180,000 Cosmic Sand.
The seventh-ranked bounty mission: Eliminate ‘Muyang’, President of the Blood Python Guild, with a bounty of 120,000 Cosmic Sand.
Luo Feng noticed the bounty for the familiar Blood Python Guild President. To be ranked seventh, his enemies must be quite generous!
“The top three bounties are relatively high, but they drop significantly after that,” Luo Feng said. He had received detailed intelligence on Huyang City from Shang Tianyan, so he was well-informed about the powerful individuals listed in these bounty missions.
Molixiao: The strongest among the five great families of the City Lord’s Mansion, and Supreme Commander of the Huyang Legion.
His individual strength is immense. The Royal Capital of Yu dispatched him to oversee a large city, equipping him with the best legion-level mechanical secret treasures, and his personal guard legion is exceptionally elite.
Already formidable on his own, and now commanding a legion, Molixiao is truly terrifying.
Blood Cloud: Leader of the Devourer Kingdom’s forces within Huyang City. He has long been lurking in Huyang City, causing significant losses to the five great families of the City Lord’s Mansion, who have been unable to deal with him.
Both of them are very strong, and their backgrounds are extraordinary.
They have clashed more than once.
“‘Zhuhugu’ of the Zhu Clan is ranked third?” Luo Feng wondered. “The Zhu Clan is a native family of Huyang City, conducting business honestly, so they shouldn’t have many enemies. Why is Zhuhugu’s bounty higher than those for leaders of dark forces? Most importantly, despite a long-standing bounty of 530,000 Cosmic Sand, the Zhu Clan remains perfectly stable.”
From these assassination missions, Luo Feng could glimpse that within Huyang City, Molixiao, Blood Cloud, and Zhuhugu were certainly not to be trifled with.
“Of course, figures like the Blaze Guild Master, myself, and those old recluses in Huyang City don’t have bounties on their heads.” Luo Feng smiled. “No bounty doesn’t mean weak.”
“Which of these assassination missions should I choose?”
Luo Feng began to ponder.
Mercenary and protection missions consume more time and effort for smaller bounties. Naturally, assassination missions are the choice.
“The leaders of the dark forces, who commit all sorts of evil, can all be considered as candidates,” Luo Feng thought. “He always had his own principles for acting, killing only those who deserved it! As for the leaders of dark forces, having committed countless evils, they naturally qualified as candidates.”
“The Blood Python Guild President’s bounty is a bit low,” Luo Feng murmured, shaking his head slightly. “There were three dark force leaders with higher bounties than his, so he naturally had to research them thoroughly.”
For his first bounty mission, success was paramount.
Preparations also needed to be made.
As Luo Feng sat on a large mountain rock, studying his potential targets, a figure suddenly flew nearby.
“Master,” Morosa said, “Mo Yuhu has come to visit.”
“Mo Yuhu?” Luo Feng was surprised. Mo Yuhu was the first Void True God he had met since arriving in the Origin Continent.
“Mo Yuhu visited once before, when you were in seclusion for over an epoch,” Morosa said. “Knowing you were in seclusion, he didn’t disturb you. This is his second visit.”
Luo Feng chuckled, “Second time? Let him in.”
“Alright.” Morosa nodded. Then he couldn’t help but say, “Master, shouldn’t we recruit some servants?”
“Recruit servants? We focus on cultivation in the cave mansion, and occasionally drinking wine or eating fruit can be prepared in advance. Why do we need servants?” Luo Feng chuckled. “When we’re out, aren’t you my servant?”
Morosa whispered, “Master, your reputation in Huyang City is growing, and more people are visiting you. I have to guard the door and also serve as a servant by your side.”
Luo Feng laughed.
When guests came, Morosa, the only servant, had to prepare wine and food and serve them. Although Morosa disguised his strength, he was, after all, an Eternal True God-level World Beast, and constantly growing stronger over time. He might even enter the Chaos realm faster than Luo Feng himself, so indeed, he wasn’t suited for mundane chores.
“My mistake.” Luo Feng chuckled. “Don’t worry, I’ll recruit servants within the next two days.”
“I’m not *that* desperate.” Morosa grinned and flew towards the cave mansion entrance, to bring Mo Yuhu in.
Mo Yuhu was somewhat reserved and nervous, as he followed Morosa all the way up to the mountaintop.
“Greetings, Esteemed One.” Mo Yuhu bowed respectfully.
As a Void True God, he was considered mid-tier within Huyang City. The recent news that the dark force ‘Blood Python Guild’ had been forced to submit to an Eternal True God named Luo He was the hottest topic throughout Huyang City, and Mo Yuhu was certainly aware of it.
Luo Feng sat there casually, looking at Mo Yuhu. “Why have you come to see me?”
“Esteemed One, you once said I could ask for your help,” Mo Yuhu said, somewhat nervous. “However, based on what he knew of this Esteemed One, Luo He was an Eternal True God with a very good temper.”
“Yes, I did promise,” Luo Feng smiled faintly. “My promise is quite valuable. Are you sure you want to use it up just like that?”
Mo Yuhu flipped his hand, and a small grey hammer appeared. He respectfully held the hammer, saying, “This weapon is the greatest treasure I’ve found in my life. While searching for treasures outside the city, I was fortunate enough to discover the corpse of an Eternal True God, and the most precious item there was this weapon that belonged to him. I am willing to offer this weapon to you, Esteemed One, in exchange for a chance for my child to become your disciple.”
Luo Feng looked at the small hammer in surprise. “This is indeed an Eternal True God-level weapon and secret treasure. By my estimation, it’s worth around 6,000 Cosmic Sand. For a mere Void True God like you to acquire such a treasure is remarkable. And you dare to display it before me? Aren’t you afraid I’ll seize it and silence you?”
“Such a treasure, I dared not sell it to any force, because even a slight leak of information would mean the annihilation of my entire family,” Mo Yuhu said, looking at Luo Feng. “I haven’t encountered many Eternal True Gods, and you, Esteemed One, are the only one I trust.”
Last time, he guided Luo Feng and wasn’t killed! Nor was he robbed! He was even offered a chance for help!
Mo Yuhu had thus determined Luo Feng’s temperament, and deemed it worth taking this gamble.
“Haha…” Luo Feng chuckled, beckoned, and took the small hammer. “I don’t accept disciples lightly.”
“Eternal True Gods don’t easily accept disciples; they usually provide trials,” Mo Yuhu said. “I only hope that you, Esteemed One, can grant a chance for a trial.”
Luo Feng said, “You should know that I have a conflict with the Blood Python Guild.”
“Yes,” Mo Yuhu nodded. “The news has spread throughout Huyang City.” From this conflict, Mo Yuhu could also see how powerful the Esteemed One was! If his child could become a disciple of such an Esteemed One, it would truly be a great fortune.
Luo Feng said, “In the future, I will also have conflicts with other dark forces. It’s likely there will be quite a few Eternal True Gods who bear grudges against me. If your child follows me, they might get entangled.”
Mo Yuhu was secretly startled.
Just had a conflict with the Blood Python Guild, and now there will be conflicts with other dark forces too?
“Since they would be following the Esteemed One, they would naturally have to bear both fortune and misfortune.” Mo Yuhu’s response was swift and resolute, because he clearly understood that Luo Feng was the only one he dared to offer that small hammer to.
“How many children do you have?” Luo Feng asked.
“Three children. You may choose one, Esteemed One,” Mo Yuhu said, immediately and respectfully presenting a booklet. “This contains all the detailed information about my three children.”
Luo Feng beckoned and took it. “You’re quite well-prepared. However, I must clarify upfront that I will only recruit one servant for now! He will need to undergo trials, and if he fails, he won’t become my disciple. Furthermore, the trials will be very, very long.”
“To be able to serve as your servant, Esteemed One, is immense fortune for my child,” Mo Yuhu said immediately.
“Alright,” Luo Feng nodded. “Go bring your three children. I will choose one to be my servant.”
Mo Yuhu looked delighted. “I’ll go bring them now.”
He respectfully took his leave and departed quickly.
“Master…” Morosa stared at the small hammer Luo Feng was idly holding, saying in disbelief, “You’re recruiting a servant and just gained a secret weapon worth 6,000 Cosmic Sand for free?”
Luo Feng chuckled, “I said I’d recruit a servant within two days. Now I have! Isn’t that fast?”
“Very fast!” Morosa exclaimed admiringly. “And Master, you’re quite the earner.”
“6,000 Cosmic Sand for him to be my servant – he’s not losing out,” Luo Feng chuckled.
“I’m also your servant, Master. To be on par with me, of course he’s not losing out,” Morosa thought contentedly. From now on, Mo Yuhu’s child could handle many of the chores and trivial matters.
Morosa said, “Master, in the future, I can help you mentor that child. You won’t need to trouble yourself.”
That way, he would have more authority to boss the child around.
“Alright, if he becomes a disciple, you’ll be his second master,” Luo Feng said. “However, I won’t accept disciples easily. If he doesn’t meet the minimum requirements, he’ll remain a servant his entire life.”
Morosa nodded. “If I’m teaching alongside you, Master, the disciple threshold should indeed be higher.”
Mo Yuhu returned home. His home was a small cave mansion in an ordinary location, originally purchased for 1,000 Chaos Crystals, which was considered average among Void True God residences.
“Father.” Three young True Gods were waiting. They knew their father was going to visit the Eternal True God ‘Luo He’, and seeing him return, all three of them were a little excited.
Mo Yuhu smiled as he looked at his three children.
On the Origin Continent, love was a luxury! After all, most True Gods found life and cultivation very difficult, let alone finding a spouse and having children.
Mo Yuhu was very fortunate. He had met his beloved, and together they had raised three children.
Since his wife’s passing, Mo Yuhu’s greatest concern had been his three children. His children were more important than his own life.
“Esteemed Luo He has agreed to grant a chance. He will choose one of you three to serve as his servant,” Mo Yuhu said. “To become a servant and undergo numerous trials is the path to eventually becoming Esteemed Luo He’s disciple. If you cannot pass the trials, you will not become an Eternal True God’s disciple.”
“We understand.”
“This is a rare opportunity, and we will strive for it.”
The three brothers had grown up in Huyang City and clearly understood how precious this opportunity was.
Mo Yuhu nodded. “Let’s leave immediately.”
