Standing inside his dwelling, Luo Feng looked up at General Xuan Jiao in the sky and immediately replied without hesitation, “It is my great fortune that the Emperor is willing to accept me as a disciple, and I naturally accept.”

Luo Feng had already prepared for the Emperor’s acceptance of him as a disciple and had considered it carefully.

Among the thirteen emperors of the Yanfeng Ancient Kingdom’s imperial family, Emperor Chu possessed terrifying strength. His few recorded actions in history had swept aside other ancient beings. He was relatively low-key, had no ill reputation, and generally devoted himself to cultivation.

Luo Feng was still willing to become Emperor Chu’s disciple.

After all, he knew that with a master’s guidance, he could avoid many detours.

“Good, follow me.” General Xuan Jiao then smiled, and with a wave of his hand, an invisible ripple enveloped Luo Feng, carrying him towards Emperor Chu’s Palace.

“Brother Luo He, congratulations,” Di Chuyu said during their flight.

“And I’m grateful to Brother Chuyu for bringing me to Chudu,” Luo Feng replied thankfully.

“Haha… With your strength, Brother Luo He, you would rise swiftly even without me,” Di Chuyu remarked.

Soon, General Xuan Jiao led them all to the entrance of Emperor Chu’s Palace.

“You may all withdraw,” General Xuan Jiao instructed. “I will take Luo He to see the Emperor.”

“Yes,” replied the personal guards as they retreated. Di Chuyu remained outside Emperor Chu’s Palace, smiling faintly without following further.

Luo Feng then followed General Xuan Jiao into the palace, which seemed to merge with the chaotic gloom.

A few moments later.

Luo Feng and General Xuan Jiao entered an ancient grand hall. Immediately, Luo Feng saw a burly figure seated on the floor, who appeared to be the very center of the boundless cosmos.

It was as if heaven and earth could crumble, yet he would remain eternal.

His breathing was more formidable than the might of the cosmos itself.

As he looked at Luo Feng, Luo Feng felt as if he were confronting the very essence of the Grand Dao of Life.

Luo Feng understood that this person must be Emperor Chu, one of the thirteen emperors of the imperial family.

“Your Majesty,” General Xuan Jiao bowed. “I have brought Luo He.”

The Emperor gave a slight nod, and General Xuan Jiao promptly withdrew from the hall.

Only Luo Feng and the Emperor remained in the hall.

“Luo He,” Emperor Chu said with a smile, looking at Luo Feng. “I’ve recently looked into your past. Are you from the Original Universe?”

Luo Feng was startled but did not hide the truth. He immediately bowed and replied, “Yes, I am indeed from the Original Universe.”

Emperor Chu smiled approvingly. “Beings from the Original Universe are incredibly weak; it’s very difficult for them to grow from such weakness to become True Gods. For you to reach the Transcendence stage of the Chaos Realm… that is truly remarkable.”

“Don’t be nervous,” Emperor Chu continued. “Innumerable ancestors of today’s cultivators almost all originated from the Original Universe. They arrived at the Origin Continent and, through countless ages of procreation, led to the vast number of beings here today. The original natives of the Origin Continent are almost exclusively found in the East Pole Region.”

Luo Feng was already aware of this.

“Let me ask you another question: Are you a reincarnated cultivator?” Emperor Chu inquired. Even with the advanced methods of the Yanfeng Ancient Kingdom, they could not bypass the operation of supreme rules.

“No,” Luo Feng replied, shaking his head.

Emperor Chu nodded.

“Among the thirteen emperors, I have accepted the fewest disciples, only two,” Emperor Chu said, looking at Luo Feng. “When I take on a disciple, I value talent, and secondly, I value the compatibility of our temperaments. Your talent is good, and I quite like your character, which is why I decided to accept you.”

“Before you officially become my disciple,” Emperor Chu added, “you must consider carefully whether you truly wish to do so.”

“To become a disciple entails great karma.”

“The master-disciple relationship is no less profound than that of blood relatives,” Emperor Chu explained. “A master chooses a disciple, and a disciple also chooses a master! You must consider this very carefully. Once you become my disciple, other peak existences on the Origin Continent will not be able to accept you as their own.”

Luo Feng, of course, understood that the master-disciple bond carried significant karma.

However, how many of the peak existences on the Origin Continent would even consider him? Furthermore, Luo Feng had his own preferences; he would not be willing to apprentice himself to any being with monstrous sins.

“Your disciple has considered it carefully,” Luo Feng declared. He immediately knelt, touching his head to the ground in a profound bow. “Your disciple, Luo Feng, greets master.”

“Luo Feng?” Emperor Chu paused, surprised.

“Luo Feng is my original name,” Luo Feng explained. “It carries some karmic ties, which is why I’ve been using Luo He.” Having decided to become a disciple, he no longer concealed his true name.

“Hahaha… Excellent, excellent,” Emperor Chu laughed upon hearing this. “From today onwards, Luo Feng, you are my third direct disciple!”

“Luo Feng, do you need my help to resolve the karmic ties you are involved with?” Emperor Chu asked.

“No, Master, your disciple can handle it,” Luo Feng replied.

Emperor Chu nodded in satisfaction. “Since you are entangled with karma, I will also keep your original name confidential.” Emperor Chu was pleased to see his disciple’s self-reliance in resolving his own issues.

“As you become my disciple today, I have prepared three gifts for you,” Emperor Chu told Luo Feng. “The first gift is related to the two inheritances you chose: the first tribulation of ‘Eight Tribulations Life Form’ and the first scroll of ‘Seventy-Two Blades of Annihilation’. Once you master these, you will receive the subsequent parts of the inheritances for free.”

“Of course, the inheritances I can freely grant you will not exceed the God-King Ultimate Realm,” Emperor Chu clarified.

Luo Feng was pleasantly surprised.

All content of these two inheritances, up to the God-King Ultimate Realm, would be free?

The first tribulation of ‘Eight Tribulations Life Form’ and the first scroll of ‘Seventy-Two Blades of Annihilation’ that he currently possessed were both at the God-King First Stage, each valued at approximately 100,000 merit points. Progressing further, methods at the God-King Second Stage would require around 3 million merit points, and those at the God-King Third Stage (Ultimate Realm) would demand a staggering 100 million merit points.

To acquire these techniques, some God-King Guest Masters had to fight to the death for the Yanfeng Ancient Kingdom.

The two inheritances together were worth around 200 million merit points! He could obtain them for free as long as his cultivation realm reached the required level! This was the clear distinction between an outsider and a direct disciple.

“My second gift to you,” Emperor Chu said, looking at Luo Feng. With a flick of his wrist, he produced a stone box. When it opened, ten pale red fruits lay within. Just inhaling their fragrance, Luo Feng felt his soul being nourished, and his thoughts raced several times faster. “These are ‘Primal Chaos Crystal Spirit Fruits,’ which the Ancestor bestowed upon me long ago. They are of no use to me now, so I will give these ten to you.”

“These Primal Chaos Crystal Spirit Fruits are borne from a tree cultivated using Primal Chaos Crystal Jade,” Emperor Chu explained. “They have a miraculous nourishing effect on the soul; after consumption, one becomes more attuned to the supreme rules, and comprehension greatly improves. These are not products of this Source World and are exceedingly rare, impossible to acquire with merit points. You must use them sparingly.”

“I advise you to consume five fruits during the Chaos Realm stage and the remaining five during the God-King First Stage.”

“Yes, Master,” Luo Feng responded, sensing the sincerity of his new master.

Emperor Chu looked at Luo Feng. “What is your most frequently used weapon?”

Luo Feng extended his hand, revealing the Blood Shadow Blade. “It’s this blade.”

Emperor Chu glanced at it. “Is that a God-King-level blade embryo?”

Emperor Chu pondered for a moment, then, with a flick of his wrist, produced a ball of iridescent soil. He casually tossed it onto the Blood Shadow Blade, which, as if famished, devoured it completely in the blink of an eye.

“Originally, your blade embryo would have peaked as a God-King First Stage weapon,” Emperor Chu explained. “Now its potential has significantly increased, with the prospect of reaching the God-King Ultimate Realm.”

“However, while I’ve provided the primary material, you will need to acquire some of the auxiliary materials yourself,” Emperor Chu continued. “The most crucial aspect of a blade embryo is your personal nurturing. Here is a detailed method for nurturing weapons.” As he spoke, a stream of light descended upon Luo Feng, carrying a secret technique for weapon cultivation.

Emperor Chu looked at Luo Feng. “The Ancestor has decreed that even direct disciples must accumulate merit points through their own efforts.”

“Master has already done a great deal for your disciple,” Luo Feng said, feeling immensely grateful.

Each of these three gifts was exceptionally valuable.

“I am not particularly skilled at instructing disciples,” Emperor Chu admitted, looking at Luo Feng. “I am not proficient in the Grand Dao of Life Source, so you will need to rely on yourself for that. As for the Grand Dao of Destruction Source… that happens to be my path. If you have any doubts, you may come to me.”

Luo Feng nodded. “Your disciple understands.”

“Do you have any questions now?” Emperor Chu asked Luo Feng.

“None for now,” Luo Feng replied, shaking his head.

His understanding of the Grand Dao of Destruction Source was still rudimentary, not even reaching the peak level of the Chaos Realm. He was still in a period of rapid growth; he would inquire when he truly encountered a bottleneck and found progress difficult.

“Very well,” Emperor Chu said with a smile and a nod. “As my direct disciple, you will have priority in choosing from many special tasks. These tasks are only offered to the Imperial Family’s First-Class Marquises afterward.”

“Understood,” Luo Feng nodded.

“Go forth and cultivate diligently,” Emperor Chu urged. “Become a God-King soon. None of my disciples… have yet reached the God-King realm,” he added with a sigh.

“Your disciple will certainly strive,” Luo Feng pledged, immediately bowing. “Your disciple takes his leave.”

Luo Feng promptly exited the grand hall.

As he looked out at the chaotic gloom beyond the hall, Luo Feng felt a surge of excitement.

The ten ‘Primal Chaos Crystal Spirit Fruits’ given by Master Emperor Chu offered significant cultivation benefits just by their scent. If he actually consumed them, what incredible effects would they have? This was the first time he had encountered such a rare treasure since arriving at the Origin Continent!

Luo Feng was eager to return and try one immediately.

Inside the grand hall, Emperor Chu watched Luo Feng depart.

“My third direct disciple,” Emperor Chu murmured, watching Luo Feng. He shook his head slightly. “Unfortunately, my abilities are limited, and I cannot effectively guide my disciples in their cultivation.”

Unlike Emperor Qing, one of the thirteen emperors, whose realm was high enough that he could quickly identify issues and guide disciples even if they followed different paths.

As for Emperor Chu, he could only offer precious resources. The rest was up to the disciples themselves.

“What good is taking on disciples?” Emperor Chu mused, gazing at the boundless world outside the hall. “This Source World will ultimately have an end. When that day comes, how many will still survive?”

“Even the Ancestor is moving forward in the dark. Emperor Qing has also embarked on this path, and he is hoped to assist the Ancestor in the future.”

“As for the other twelve of us, we are certainly strong enough on the Origin Continent, but what would we be if we were to leave this Source World?”

“And my disciples, I fear, won’t even have the qualifications to leave this Source World.”

“I shall cherish the fate I share with them in this Source World,” Emperor Chu mused, gently shaking his head. He then closed his eyes and began to cultivate in seclusion.
