Chapter 423: What Makes Them So Good?
It wasn’t just the two of them. Soon, all the young men gathered around in a circle, their heads close together, whispering.
“What are they doing?” Song Qing asked, puzzled.
“Who knows?” Ning Lan shrugged. “Maybe they’re talking about something important.”
“I think they’re discussing which of us is prettier,” Song Qing said, a hint of playfulness in her tone.
Ning Lan rolled her eyes. “Don’t flatter yourself. Why would they talk about us?”
“Then what do you think they’re talking about?” Song Qing pressed.
“I don’t know,” Ning Lan admitted. “But it’s definitely not about us. We barely know them.”
The two girls exchanged glances, then turned their attention back to the group of young men. They were still huddled together, their voices low and muffled.
“Hey, let’s go listen in,” Song Qing whispered, a mischievous glint in her eyes.
“No way!” Ning Lan immediately objected. “That’s rude.”
“Come on, just for a bit,” Song Qing coaxed. “I’m really curious.”
“Absolutely not,” Ning Lan insisted. “We shouldn’t eavesdrop.”
“Fine, you stay here then,” Song Qing said, pouting. “I’m going by myself.”
Before Ning Lan could stop her, Song Qing had already started to tiptoe towards the group of young men. Ning Lan sighed, then reluctantly followed, making sure to keep a safe distance.
As Song Qing got closer, she could hear snippets of their conversation.
“…so, which one do you think is better?” one of the young men asked.
“Definitely the one in blue,” another replied. “She’s got a better figure.”
“I prefer the one in white,” a third chimed in. “She’s more elegant.”
Song Qing’s eyes widened. They were indeed talking about them! She quickly turned back to Ning Lan, a triumphant look on her face. Ning Lan, who had also overheard the conversation, couldn’t help but blush.
“See? I told you,” Song Qing whispered, trying to suppress a giggle.
Ning Lan shot her a glare, then quickly pulled her back. “Let’s go before they notice us.”
The two girls quickly retreated, their faces flushed with a mixture of embarrassment and amusement.
Meanwhile, the young men continued their discussion, completely oblivious to the fact that they had been overheard.
“But seriously, what makes them so special?” one of them asked, a hint of confusion in his voice. “They’re just ordinary girls, aren’t they?”
“I don’t know,” another replied, shrugging. “But there’s something about them, isn’t there?”
“Yeah, they’re different,” a third agreed. “They’re not like the other girls we’ve met.”
“Maybe it’s their aura,” someone suggested. “They seem to have a certain charm.”
“Or maybe it’s just their confidence,” another added. “They carry themselves with such grace.”
“Whatever it is, I’m captivated,” the first young man confessed. “I can’t stop thinking about them.”
The others nodded in agreement, their eyes distant and dreamy. They were clearly smitten.
Unbeknownst to them, Song Qing and Ning Lan were listening from a distance, their hearts fluttering with a mixture of joy and apprehension. They couldn’t believe that these young men were so taken with them. It was a strange and exhilarating feeling.
