The elder mage, draped in emerald robes, his eyes gleaming with a manic light, declared, “My clan has prepared these treasures for millennia, and at last, their purpose is at hand!” With a flourish, he struck himself upon various points, each blow releasing a multitude of wondrous artifacts that shimmered and danced in the air. His very being seemed to be a living reliquary, a storehouse of countless generations’ preparations.

“All is for the Green Scorpion’s resurrection,” he rasped, “sealed within the bodies of sacrificial priests, passed down through the ages. None but ourselves could release them, save perhaps a Grand Empyrean.”

He examined the body before him, the vessel for the scorpion’s return. “This frame is of the Dao Ancient lineage,” he mused, “strong, yes, but lacking in suppleness. Thus, I shall infuse it with a branch of the Celestial Tree, grown for nine thousand years, to grant it nigh-indestructibility!” With a gesture, he plucked a gnarled, ancient branch from the air, its dark surface imbued with a palpable sense of time.

“A rare treasure indeed, purchased at great cost upon the Celestial Continent,” the mage muttered. Without hesitation, he hurled the branch at the waiting form. As it neared, it exploded into a cloud of black dust that enveloped the body, each particle writhing as if alive, weaving themselves into spectral threads that burrowed into the pores, forming a dense web within the flesh.

A deep rumbling shook the form as the web fused with its blood and bone, granting it a resilience beyond that of any ordinary Ancient. It was now not only strong but also possessed an uncanny flexibility, a body nigh impossible to break.

“His eyes lack the fierce glint, the Heavenly Majesty needed to subjugate,” the mage continued, his voice rising in pitch. “A body of strength alone is not enough; it requires an aura of supreme dominance. Thus, I shall imbue him with a shard of the Immortal Ancestor’s shattered sword, splintered by the Green Scorpion’s own stinger in ages past! With but a glance, he shall cow the most hardened warrior!”

His face contorted in ecstasy, the mage waved a golden sliver, the size of his palm, towards the body. The artifact defied easy description, resembling both gold and wood, covered in cryptic runes that pulsed with an inner light. An aura of unbearable sharpness radiated from it, filling the green chamber with an invisible tempest of blades.

The very air shimmered with the energy, forcing the green light and the scorpion-shaped phantasms to recoil in fear. The golden shard vanished into the body, dissolving into a stream of golden energy that spread throughout every vein and fiber.

At that instant, a wave of Heavenly Might exploded outwards, palpable and suffocating. The mage staggered, even as his two Green Scorpion acolytes recoiled, their eyes wide with a mixture of awe and apprehension. Were the spirit within this vessel to wield such power, the impact would shake the very foundations of reality.

“His meridians, though of Ancient stock, fall short of the Green Scorpion’s true potential,” the mage muttered, his frenzy growing. “To reach his full power, we must forge a new path, a separate channel to accommodate the unique energies of the Scorpion Lord! I cannot grant him the power of both Immortal and Ancient, but I can ensure he will not reject the Celestial energies.”

With a grand flourish, he scattered four leaves, six glowing pills, a thread of crimson, and three ashen stones towards the body. Each item was of incalculable value, treasures that would ignite wars amongst lesser beings. But the mage felt no regret, for the greatest prize was at hand. Of all the gifts, the crimson thread, said to be a hair of the Immortal Ancestor himself, was the most precious. Unbreakable by any mortal blade, it melded with the body’s essence, weaving through the flesh until, after nine cycles, it formed a perfect loop. And in that moment, a second set of meridians sprang into existence within the vessel.

With this new pathway, the Green Scorpion, once resurrected, could command both the powers of the Ancient and the Immortal, achieving a feat never before witnessed in the annals of creation.

Even with his iron will, the madness of the mage astounded the trapped spirit. But the preparations of this ancient clan were far from over.

“The Green Scorpion, upon his return, requires a weapon of unmatched power to cleave the heavens and rend the earth. Not some external trinket, but a blade born of the spirit itself!” the mage declared, his eyes burning with obsession. “For countless millennia, my clan has gathered the most yin and yielding materials in existence, and at a price beyond measure, we have secured a wisp of soul from each of the twenty-nine Celestial Province’s guardian spirits, forging them into a single, Shadow Blade!”

“This blade has yet to face its Celestial Tribulation, but once it does, it will become a weapon to tempt even a Grand Empyrean!” He unleashed a torrent of frigid mist that enveloped the chamber, a swirling vortex with the ghostly shape of a curved blade at its heart, a vision that sent a chill down the spine.

“Such a weapon cannot be contained in any mere space. It must be bound to the very essence of the body. Since this vessel is destined for the Scorpion Lord, I shall use his right hand as the anchor, planting the Shadow Blade within its bones! From this day forth, its name shall echo across the Celestial Continent!”

The icy mist surged towards the body, coalescing within the right arm, turning it a stark black, encased in a rime of frost that seemed to absorb all light.

With a sickening crack, a nine-foot-long blade, black as the void, erupted from the palm of the hand, its edges jagged and cruel, a weapon of nightmare forged from the very flesh and bone of its vessel.
