Chapter 1992: Dao Ancient Kingdom Preceptor! | Renegade Immortal

Renegade Immortal - Updated on March 9, 2025

The instant he brushed against the swirling mists, they churned as if struck by a sudden heat, writhing outwards with unnatural speed. From within its depths echoed roars like those of savage beasts.

The earth-shattering howls reverberated, but Wang Lin’s Six Extreme Dao Totem, plunged deep within the fog, seemed to be swallowed whole.

Wang Lin’s eyes narrowed. He would not act rashly. If the Dao Ancient Grand Tutor within these mists was truly the one he suspected, this fog was no mere illusion. With such cunning, he would never allow so easy a passage.

“He has been here long, weaving great arrays, even intertwining them with the Imperial Palace! To place such arcane formations within the Ancestral Immortal’s wards reveals a grand ambition!” Wang Lin stared into the mist, his mind racing. “He has not yet fled, yet veils himself in this Ten-Hued Mist. He must be at a crucial stage of some potent sorcery!” As he pondered, the mists exploded with deafening thunder.

Churning violently, a colossal beast with the body of a lion and the face of a man erupted from the fog. Its form was pitch black, exuding tendrils of darkness. A wave of oppressive power surged forth, threatening to crush heaven and earth.

The beast’s emergence was followed by the Six Extreme Dao Totem, now freed, spinning in the air as it descended upon the monster. The beast roared, its immense body slamming into the Totem with an echoing boom.

“Hmm, you possess some skill,” a voice chuckled from within the fog, clear even amidst the cacophony. “Perhaps the Ancestral Immortal’s Eight Extreme Dao Divinity could pierce my Ten-Hued Mystic Array, but with only Six, you will have to strive harder to enter.”

Wang Lin’s expression remained calm. With a flick of his sleeve, he overlapped with another figure, his Five Elements True Body. Identical in appearance, its eyes shone with cold light as it charged into the Ten-Hued Mist. In an instant, it was upon the Totem-battering beast, a palm strike unleashing a torrent of swirling light, the five primordial forces of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth manifested.

Countless golden swords materialized, coalescing into a whirlwind of blades, brimming with the essence of metal, howling towards the beast. Even as it struggled against the Totem’s pressure from above, the swordstorm engulfed it, eliciting a piercing shriek.

As the shriek faded, the Ten-Hued Mist roiled anew. Four immense figures emerged. First, a humanoid serpent, its gargantuan form issuing a wail like an infant’s cry, a red aura swirling about it as it spewed forth crimson mists towards the Five Elements True Body.

Next, a vast lizard, its skin a pristine white like polished jade. As it materialized, its tongue flicked out, unleashing a wave of biting frost, and joined the serpent’s assault upon Wang Lin’s True Body.

A bizarre creature, mantis-like with six wings, shrieked forth. Its target was not the Five Elements True Body, but the Six Extreme Dao Totem hanging in the air.

Finally, a grotesque, maggot-like horror crawled forth, its body dripping with viscous fluid, a sickly green in color. Two humanoid heads adorned its antennae, both bearing the countenances of sublime beauties!

With a piercing shriek, the twin-headed horror lunged towards Wang Lin himself, a bestial hunger blazing in their eyes.

Wang Lin’s face remained unchanged. As the maggot-like beast drew near, he raised his right hand. Behind him, the colossal phantom of a Dao Ancient ancestor materialized. With the twenty-seven stars shining in his eyes and brow, Wang Lin unleashed a devastating punch.

The Dao Ancient phantom mirrored his action.

The ensuing blast sent the twin-headed horror reeling back into the mists, seemingly unscathed.

Wang Lin frowned. As the two beasts attacking his Five Elements True Body shrieked in agony, he saw two giant hands of woven wood appear around the humanoid serpent, crushing its body into a bloody mess.

The jade lizard was enveloped in a sea of flames, burning with the raw essence of fire. It screamed, retreating swiftly into the mists.

As the six-winged mantis beast approached Wang Lin’s Six Extreme Dao Totem, the Totem exploded, forming a gargantuan hand that crushed the creature.

But with an eerie twist, an identical six-winged beast flew from the mists!

However, no sooner had it emerged than a torrent of water vapor condensed into countless raindrops, piercing the creature with the force of a thousand swords.

Meanwhile, the twin-headed maggot, recovering from Wang Lin’s blow and preparing to charge once more, found itself ensnared by a yellow aura, made of grains of sand, the earth essence of Wang Lin’s Five Elements True Body. The aura spread rapidly, encasing the beast within a statue of hardened earth!

With a deafening crash, the earthen statue shattered.

With the Five Elements True Body and the Six Extreme Dao powers keeping the beasts at bay, Wang Lin’s eyes flashed. He raised his right hand and pointed to the sky. The massive Dao Ancient phantom behind him solidified, appearing almost lifelike. Taking massive strides, it charged into the mists, its fist clenched, roaring as it aimed a blow towards the heart of the fog!

Yet, as the punch entered the mists, it shuddered, as if meeting an unseen barrier. A gigantic sea beast with eight tentacles materialized, its limbs wrapping tightly around the Dao Ancient phantom’s arm, issuing a piercing shriek.

Then, three more beasts coalesced from the mists: a massive roc, its wings beating wildly, striving to reach the sky, a magnificent purple phoenix, its presence bathing the area in violet light, and finally, a towering giant with two heads, pounding its chest and roaring, leaping towards Wang Lin.

Nine beasts in all, howling and snarling, barred Wang Lin’s path!

“There should be a tenth beast!” Wang Lin smirked. With his left hand, he pointed towards the roc in the sky, and the very fabric of the heavens around it seemed to tear apart, crushing the creature inwards with a sound like thunder. Silver light flashed, it was the Ancient Ancestor’s finger!

Even as he unleashed this attack, another image began to overlap with Wang Lin’s body: his Slaughtering Thunder True Body. Stepping forward, its hair turned jet black, a terrifying aura of slaughter exuding from it. A cruel smile twisted its lips, its eyes cold and merciless. As it moved, it trailed countless threads of blackness, converging on the black phoenix. The strands pierced the beast, and with a shriek, it burst apart. The black energies coalesced once more, forming the shape of the Slaughtering Thunder True Body, which licked its lips and issued a low growl, turning towards another beast.

The ninth beast, the two-headed giant, had already closed to within mere yards of Wang Lin, its fetid breath washing over him, its intent to kill palpable.

“You seek death!” Wang Lin’s eyes flashed with killing intent. While his Five Elements True Body was engaged, and his Slaughtering Thunder True Body had been unleashed, his original body, infused with the essence of the Void, was still a force to be reckoned with.

Moreover, he possessed a power he had yet to unleash on the Immortal-Astral Continent: the most potent ability inherited from the Ancient clan, the most terrifying core ability of the entire clan!

As the two-headed giant lunged, Wang Lin threw back his head and roared. A series of explosions echoed from within his body. He expanded rapidly, growing from a mere man to a towering giant of a hundred yards in height!

The Dao Ancient True Body!

For the first time on this continent, Wang Lin revealed his Dao Ancient True Body. The massive frame, the thick limbs, the powerful muscles, were unveiled, a feeling of ancient wisdom radiating from his very being. Fine, dark lines covered his skin, hinting at a deep, hidden power.

“Get out of my way!” The Dao Ancient True Body was never revealed by those of the Ancient clan unless it was necessary, as any damage done to it could have an effect on the cultivator’s abilities. The Dao Ancient True Body was best used in battle.

Within the Imperial Palace, the members of the Dao Ancient race, even Dao Ancient Emperor, never had the opportunity to reveal it before Wang Lin’s power destroyed them.

A hundred yards was not Wang Lin’s limit. He took a step forward and unleashed a devastating punch. The two-headed giant’s eyes widened in terror as it returned the blow, but the moment their fists connected, its body exploded.

It offered no resistance. Wang Lin dropped to the ground, bursting into the mist, his body continuing to grow, now standing at a massive seven or eight hundred yards!

His enormous fist hurtled towards the mist, but as it neared, a thunderous hum echoed forth. The mist writhed, and the nine beasts fighting Wang Lin’s True Bodies burst into mist, flying towards the center.

The mist rolled, condensing before Wang Lin’s eyes. As Wang Lin’s fist struck, the fog revealed a massive beast of similar size!

The beast flapped its wings. It was a giant fly! It hurtled towards Wang Lin’s fist.

Wang Lin’s body trembled. He lowered his head, a strange light in his eyes. He saw below the beast a lotus of mist, with an old man sitting cross legged at its centre!

He recognized the old man!

“Tian Yunzi! So it was you!”
