Chapter 81: Blind Girl Cai'er (3) | Throne Of Seal [Trans]

Throne Of Seal [Trans] - Updated on March 13, 2025

As Long Haochen spoke, he switched the sword to his left hand and used his right hand to support the girl’s bamboo cane. The girl stopped, and suddenly, Long Haochen, who was standing beside her, felt a chilling sensation rise from the bottom of his heart. Almost instinctively, he released the bamboo cane.

“No need.” The girl’s voice was cold, but not like Ye Hua’s. Ye Hua was cold on the outside but warm on the inside. However, the girl gave Long Haochen a feeling of almost deathly coldness, as if she had no vitality at all.

“Let me help you, I’ll take you home.” Long Haochen tried to make his voice as gentle as possible.

“I said, no need.” The girl said coldly and continued to walk forward.

Long Haochen stood still, watching the girl’s figure gradually disappear into the distance. He suddenly felt a sense of depression in his heart, unsure whether it was because he couldn’t help the girl or something else.

He gently shook his head and sighed inwardly. The blue light on the Forget-Me-Not ring on his hand flashed, and he put away the light sword of the Radiant Shield, striding towards his hotel.

Just as he put away his weapon, the girl who was struggling forward suddenly stopped and turned around abruptly.

“Hey.” The girl called out softly, and the coldness in her voice seemed to lessen a bit.

Long Haochen was heading in the same direction as her, about to pass by her. Hearing her call, he immediately stopped.

The girl raised her right hand and extended it towards Long Haochen, “Could you please help me for a bit?”

Long Haochen was a little stunned by the girl’s sudden change, and subconsciously agreed, “Okay.” As he spoke, he raised his left hand and held the girl’s very slender and fair hand.

The girl’s hand was very soft, as soft as tender tofu. Her fingers were slender and fair, as if carved from beautiful jade. Holding it in his palm, he immediately felt a sense of warmth he had never experienced before.

The girl reciprocated Long Haochen’s hand, her soft, delicate fingers lightly brushed against the Forget-Me-Not ring on Long Haochen’s left middle finger.

Long Haochen’s face flushed slightly. He was at the age of budding romance, and holding the girl’s soft hand, his heart rate involuntarily increased.

The girl wore a veil, obscuring her facial expression, but the moment she touched the Forget-Me-Not ring, her other hand clenched subconsciously, and her slender body tightened slightly.

Because of the unusual feeling in his heart, Long Haochen’s perception plummeted, and he didn’t even notice the subtle changes in the girl’s emotions.

“Where do you live?” Long Haochen managed to calm his mind and asked the girl.

The girl said, “Seventy-six zhang forward, turn right thirty-eight zhang, then turn left twenty-three zhang, and I’m there.”

Long Haochen’s heart stirred. He wasn’t surprised by the girl’s accurate sense of distance, but rather felt even more pity. She had to put in so much effort to be able to judge distances so accurately. At that moment, the softest part of his heart was deeply touched.

Subconsciously, he tightened his grip on the girl’s hand and slowly moved forward.

The two walked forward quietly, at a slow pace. But for some reason, Long Haochen felt a sense of warmth in his heart. This was the first time he had held a girl’s hand while walking, and although he was doing it to help her, he felt like he wanted to keep walking like this forever.

The girl’s aura was cold, but she was very quiet, moving steadily, following Long Haochen step by step. Her purple hair fluttered in the breeze, and Long Haochen seemed to feel a hint of gentleness.

“W-what’s your name?” The girl suddenly asked.

“Ah?” Long Haochen was startled and quickly averted his gaze from the girl’s face, even though he knew she couldn’t see. But he still felt a little embarrassed.

“My name is Long Haochen. What about you?”

“My name is Caier.” The girl said softly, her voice so soft that only Long Haochen could hear it.

“A very beautiful name. Caier, is your home in Holy City?”

Caier gently shook her head and said, “I live in a city in the east of the Alliance. Not here. I’m here to take care of some things.”

Long Haochen frowned slightly and said, “What about your family? How could they let you come out alone?”

Caier said quietly, “I can take care of myself.”

Looking at her eyes that lacked any brilliance, Long Haochen felt as if something was stuck in his throat, and he couldn’t say anything.

“What’s wrong?” Caier hadn’t heard Long Haochen’s voice for a long time and turned towards him in surprise.

Long Haochen gently shook his head, “Nothing.” He almost blurted out that he wanted to take care of her, but he held back in the end, because he didn’t have the ability or the right to do so, and it would be too presumptuous. But he felt genuine pity for the blind girl Caier in front of him.

Caier stopped, causing Long Haochen, whose mood was a little depressed, to stop with her.

“What’s wrong?” Long Haochen looked at her.

Caier said, “I’m here.”

Long Haochen was shocked to realize that he was supposed to be leading Caier, but now it seemed like she was leading him.

“Sorry, I…” Long Haochen said awkwardly.

Caier gently shook her head and gently withdrew her hand from his, “Thank you.”

Long Haochen looked up and saw that it was also a hotel, and it was very close to the one he was staying in.

“Let me take you inside.” Long Haochen said.

Caier shook her head again, “No need, I can manage.”

Long Haochen scratched his head, “Goodbye. Be careful.” Although he knew Caier couldn’t see, he still waved to her before leaving for his own hotel.

Caier did not return directly to the hotel, but stood there quietly, facing the direction Long Haochen left. The corners of her lips, hidden under the veil, outlined a shallow arc.

“It really is him. This fool. That’s right! It’s been several years, how could he recognize me? I lost my sense of taste and the ability to speak back then, but now I’ve lost my sight. Long Haochen, Long Haochen!” After making sure she had memorized the name, she slowly clenched the hand that Long Haochen had held earlier, tapped the bamboo cane on the ground, and returned to the hotel.

Long Haochen returned to his room, but the image of the blind girl lingered in his mind for a long time. Even after sitting cross-legged, he couldn’t enter a meditative state for a while.

“It seems that my choice to become a Guardian Knight was the right one. There are too many people in this world who need protection.” Long Haochen sighed softly, took a pill given to him by Lin Xin, calmed his mind, and slowly entered a state of cultivation.

The first day of the Demon Hunt Selection Competition had begun. While Long Haochen returned to the hotel to rest, more contestants were still competing fiercely.

However, half of the people would leave this place on the first day, eliminated from the competition.

At the Magic Temple Training Ground, Lin Xin leisurely sat on the rest seats, watching the competition in the arena. He wasn’t nervous at all, sitting there observing the surrounding contestants.

He was in the first row of the player seats, with only two people beside him, a man and a woman.

“The two of you, are you interested in elixirs?” Lin Xin asked the man and woman beside him with a smile.

The two young magicians looked at him with puzzled expressions, their eyes slightly wary.
