Chapter 136: Breeding Base | Không Có Tiền Tu Cái Gì Tiên
Không Có Tiền Tu Cái Gì Tiên - Updated on June 26, 2025
From the outside, the place looked like a massive factory, completely cut off from its surroundings.
Visitors wishing to enter had to pay another 200 yuan for a ticket.
Bai Zhenzhen thought to herself, “Damn it… is Xiong Wenwu trying to boost sales, which is why he specifically arranged our meeting here?”
Despite their displeasure, Zhang Yu and Bai Zhenzhen spent 400 yuan on two tickets and entered the breeding facility.
As soon as they stepped inside, the feeling of complete clarity they had experienced in the nature reserve, where every breath seemed to cleanse their bodies, vanished.
It was replaced by dry, acrid air.
Zhang Yu wondered aloud, “Is the breeding facility not connected to the air from the nature reserve? Is this the air we usually breathe?”
Bai Zhenzhen lamented internally, “The demon beasts in this reserve can’t even breathe the air their ancestors breathed.”
Just then, a deep voice rang out, “Long time no see, Zhang Yu, Bai Zhenzhen.”
Zhang Yu turned to see a tall figure already waiting for them; it was Xiong Wenwu from Red Tower High School.
Seeing the two looking his way, Xiong Wenwu said, “Let’s talk as we tour; we shouldn’t waste the ticket money.”
Zhang Yu and Bai Zhenzhen followed him to the breeding facility’s first stop: the Incubation Room.
On both sides of the corridor, rows upon rows of transparent rooms housed various types of demon beasts. The only commonality was that each beast was incubating something resembling a dragon egg beneath itself.
However, about half of the rooms appeared empty and unused.
“So, it’s a demon beast breeding facility,” Zhang Yu realized.
Bai Zhenzhen looked at the various demon beasts in the incubation room as if at a zoo. Suddenly, she pointed to a bear and chuckled, “Haha, Xiong Wenwu, does that bear look like you before your modification?”
Xiong Wenwu glanced at Incubation Room No. 33, where a massive demon bear lay prone, snoring in its sleep.
Xiong Wenwu stated flatly, “That’s my mother.”
“Huh?” Bai Zhenzhen was stunned.
Xiong Wenwu looked at the two and explained, “The breeding facility searches for suitable female demon beasts to serve as mothers. They then implant the True Dragon bloodline, creating offspring that contain dragon lineage.”
“I heard they used incubators directly in the past, but later the company decided that demon beast mothers were cheaper, and the facility’s output didn’t need to be too high. So, in the end, they found us real mothers.”
“After all, there are plenty of demon beasts in the nature reserve, so it’s easy to catch them.”
Xiong Wenwu looked at the demon beasts in the incubation room and said calmly, “Although she is my mother, she’s just a demon beast with no real intelligence. She doesn’t recognize me anymore.”
Having never encountered such a conversation, Bai Zhenzhen and Zhang Yu were both momentarily stunned, unsure what to say.
In silence, the three arrived at the Newborn Area.
Inside numerous incubators were demon-descendant infants of various shapes and forms.
Some were sound asleep, some were wide-eyed, looking outwards, while others had a syringe inserted into their backs and were wailing loudly.
Xiong Wenwu stated plainly, “The infants here will continuously receive various injections. Those unable to withstand the medication will be eliminated…”
Next was the Study Room, where demon-descendant infants were intently watching a screen. It displayed the Red Tower Ranch onboarding training, kindergarten edition, teaching them how to cherish the company as if it were their own home.
Bai Zhenzhen exclaimed, “It’s actually a kindergarten-edition onboarding training, seriously!?”
Zhang Yu nodded slightly, thinking how outrageous Red Tower Ranch was.
But then Bai Zhenzhen continued, “They have a job from birth? Many people outside must envy this treatment, right?”
Xiong Wenwu said with a hint of pride, “The company provides every demon-descendant born in the facility with a job. They receive onboarding training from childhood, instilling the company spirit.”
“Because of this, common mortals protest every year, wanting to send their children into the breeding facility to study alongside us.”
Walking a few more steps, they saw a group of demon-descendant infants doing exercises while chanting slogans: ‘Hand in hand we march forward, creating a future together, the light of paternal love, illuminates you and me.’
In front of them was a portrait of a black dragon, seemingly the chairman of Red Tower High School’s board.
As they continued their tour, they observed older and older demon-descendants. From onboarding training to general education, then through successive examinations and streaming, more and more demon-descendants were assigned to work to repay their breeding debts, and fewer remained to continue their studies.
Xiong Wenwu continued, “Originally, this place produced a large number of demon-descendants every year. They would either study hard, get into college, and become valuable assets for Red Tower Ranch…”
“…or they would be directly streamed into company jobs, working diligently and becoming the cornerstone of Red Tower Ranch.”
“But ever since the introduction of Oasis Group’s new technology, the company decided to change its business direction. Many ranches and factories were acquired by Oasis Group, and this breeding facility will likely be phased out.”
Xiong Wenwu knew that for the demon-descendants who had always lived and worked here, leaving Red Tower was more terrifying than working in a factory.
However, as merely a high school student, he couldn’t change anything. The only thing he could do was try to take care of those he cared about.
Stopping and starting along the way, the three arrived at the Finished Products Room.
Inside the rooms on both sides of the corridor, seventeen-year-old demon-descendants were bent over their desks, studying.
They wore electric shock collars around their necks to keep them awake and alleviate fatigue.
Chains on their feet connected them to their desks, symbolizing their determination to study wherever they went.
Feeders in front of them had an automatic feeding function, dispensing food after they completed each assigned task as required.
Xiong Wenwu looked at the scene, a trace of nostalgia flashing across his face. He said, “They are studying the three-year general education curriculum for high school, preparing for the breeding facility’s junior high graduation exam.”
“After all, whether they can enter high school next year will determine if they study or work in the future, so everyone studies very diligently.”
Zhang Yu thought to himself… ‘Damn, if they don’t study, they’ll starve to death, right?’
Recalling everything he had seen and heard since entering the nature reserve, Zhang Yu couldn’t help but sigh inwardly, “This company truly… squeezes people dry, then grinds them under its heel.”
As they walked through the latter part of the facility, Xiong Wenwu brought up the topic of spirit veins.
“In the breeding facility’s incubation room, a spirit vein pipeline was introduced to ensure the growth of the infants and the True Dragon bloodline. It provides air from within the spirit vein and a high concentration of spiritual energy.”
“However, only the incubation room has these conditions, so someone needs to arrange for you to sneak in.”
Bai Zhenzhen asked curiously, “Won’t we be discovered?”
Xiong Wenwu shook his head. “Most of the breeding facility is automated, with only one person in charge. As long as that person agrees, no one will notice if you tap into a bit of the spirit vein.”
Zhang Yu pointed at the meter on his body and asked, “What about this?”
Xiong Wenwu explained, “The breeding facility is on the edge of the nature reserve. There’s an external logistics channel there. I’ve already smoothed things over and confirmed there are no issues. Next time, I’ll take you directly through that channel.”
Only then did Zhang Yu and Bai Zhenzhen notice that Xiong Wenwu indeed had no meter on his person.
Xiong Wenwu then warned, “But if you come in through that channel, you can only stay within the breeding facility. Absolutely do not go outside; the nature reserve has too many monitoring methods, and you will definitely be discovered.”
Zhang Yu then asked, “What’s the price?”
Xiong Wenwu replied, “8,000 yuan per hour.”
Zhang Yu and Bai Zhenzhen exchanged a glance, both feeling the price wasn’t expensive.
After all, given their physical constitutions and the prices in the nature reserve outside, merely exhaling without even cultivating would cost thousands per hour, let alone air from a spirit vein with rich spiritual energy.
Bai Zhenzhen then asked, “Why did you choose to make a deal with us?”
“I asked around, and you two are quite poor, aren’t you?” Xiong Wenwu chuckled. “I don’t trust people who are too rich. And among those who are poor enough to covet spirit veins and come to me asking about them, there are only you two… I suppose I didn’t have much of a choice.”
Xiong Wenwu continued, “Now, there’s one last issue: the sole employee of this breeding facility might not agree to this deal.”
“The person I’m taking you to meet shortly is her.”
“So, I need you to cooperate with me and talk to her together.”
“You’ll listen to my arrangements…”
Upon hearing Xiong Wenwu’s proposed arrangements, a strange expression appeared on Zhang Yu’s and Bai Zhenzhen’s faces.
Arriving at the final souvenir sales area, besides items like onboarding training manuals, special breeding facility exam papers, identical electric shock collars, and various demon-descendant dolls, Zhang Yu’s gaze also swept over different animal bones, blood, and demon beast meat.
Although demon beasts were always considered animals, completely distinct from demon-descendants, seeing such items here still made Zhang Yu feel uneasy.
Upon reaching the souvenir counter, Xiong Wenwu smiled and greeted, “Sister, I’ve come to see you.”
It was the first time Zhang Yu had seen Xiong Wenwu’s rough face smile so genuinely and happily.
However, looking at the red panda behind the counter, Zhang Yu still showed a puzzled expression. But then, considering that demon-descendants at Red Tower High School often referred to each other as brothers and sisters, it didn’t seem so strange.
Xiong Wenwu told Zhang Yu and Bai Zhenzhen, “This is my sister An An. If she hadn’t helped me learn to read when I was little, I might have been eliminated long ago.”
“She has some opportunities to tap into the spirit vein here, which she can introduce to you.”
However, the red panda behind the counter seemed to disagree with what Xiong Wenwu said.
She raised her hands high, a furious expression on her face, and declared, “Xiong Wenwu! What are you doing?! I told you I wouldn’t betray the company’s interests!”
