Chapter 1862: Blood Spilled Anew | Red Heart Survey [Translation]
Red Heart Survey [Translation] - Updated on May 1, 2025
In any world, there exists an instinct for self-preservation, a force one might call the “Heaven’s Will.”
Just as the establishment of the Outer Heavens was not merely the result of a Zen Master’s supreme divine power, it was a confluence with, or even a guiding of, the Heaven’s Will of the Shenxiao World. The Shenxiao World, though inherently open, cannot tolerate its fundamental rules being arbitrarily distorted by those of great divine power. Such acts lead to the destruction of the world, shaking the very foundations of its existence.
Why is it said that divinities arriving from outside a world cannot delve into its true essence? Because a divine arrival is bound by a contract with the world they originate from. Where they achieve their status, there they belong. If you fundamentally do not belong to this world, how can it truly embrace you? The Shenxiao World stands as the center of the myriad heavens and realms. Divinities who achieve their status within this world remain unaffected in all other realms. Conversely, divinities who achieve their status in other realms are suppressed upon entering the Shenxiao World.
This explains why the Venerable White Bone, already possessing power at the absolute peak within the Netherworld, still sought to find a way into the Shenxiao World and achieve deity status here. For only a deity of the Shenxiao World is constant across all realms. Only then does one possess supreme power in any world.
This is also why the Human Race, living or dead, relentlessly strives to expel the Demon Race from this world, and why they build the Myriad Demon Gate at any cost. By expelling the Demon Race, they fundamentally weaken their threat. Henceforth, when demons arrive in the Shenxiao World, they come from the Outer Heavens, inherently diminished by three points!
As the Heaven’s Mandate race that has ruled the Shenxiao World for countless ages, the Human Race’s understanding of this world is no less than that of the Demon Race. Though they lost the great decisive battle in the distant past and were driven from this world, the demons have never ceased their efforts to return. This effort is evident in every aspect, including the ceaseless blood battles fought around the Myriad Demon Gate year after year, and within the Demon Realm itself.
Amongst the myriad heavens and realms, the Demon Realm is indeed a peculiar place. In the ancient past, it existed merely as an appendage to the Shenxiao World, a boundless chaotic realm, serving as a long-term prison, a place of exile for powerful captives. Yet, when the Ancient Demon Emperor reopened the heavens there, compared to other worlds, it naturally shared a more intimate relationship with the Shenxiao World. More specifically, its world rank is closer to the Shenxiao World and lies above others.
Born within this realm, the Demon Race, once the favored of its Heaven’s Will and rulers of the Shenxiao World, were in a unique position. When the Ancient Demon Emperor reopened the heavens, he considered the possibility of returning to the Shenxiao World, and thus guided the formation of its world rules as much as possible towards those of the Shenxiao World – though complete consistency was impossible. However, demons who achieved their status within the Demon Realm experienced far less suppression upon entering the Shenxiao World compared to powerful beings from other realms!
Simultaneously, when Human Race individuals enter the Demon Realm, they are likewise subject to the corresponding suppression of the Demon Realm’s rules. The principle of “All Realms Constant One” does not fully apply here. Of course, the suppression exerted by the Demon Realm on the Human Race is definitively far less potent than the suppression of the Shenxiao World on the Demon Race.
Understanding these principles allows one to grasp the value of the Civilization Basin and the significance of destroying the Heaven Demon Altar and building a Human Race stronghold. Just as in chaotic battlefields like the Maze World, where floating islands signify areas of Human Race influence and sea nests those of the Sea Race, the former are built upon the world rules of the Shenxiao World, and the latter upon the rules of the vast ocean.
Destroying a Heaven Demon Altar in a certain location signifies the possibility of changing the world rules of that place. Building a Human Race stronghold upon the ruins of a Heaven Demon Altar signifies that this location has been annexed by the Human Race, that this place has been invaded by the Shenxiao World!
The Civilization Basin can be considered a bridgehead of the Shenxiao World, itself an extension of its rules. Jiang Mengxiong’s punch in Frostwind Valley may not have merely carved a gap in the mountain range. It may have shattered a vast area of the Demon Realm’s rules, thus establishing the foundation for the existence of the racial battlefield.
Within the Shenxiao World, there lay a destroyed Heaven Demon Altar – if it were intact, Jiang Wang would have been powerless to affect it. Upon the altar stood a bronze tripod, rumored to be cast from the flesh and bone of the Feathered Quill. Within the tripod lay the embers of fire, personally ignited by Jiang Wang and then forcibly extinguished by the Seal God Platform. And, of course, the scattered ashes of Human Race prodigies. One could say all was prepared, lacking only demon bone.
After destroying the Heaven Demon Altar in the Demon Realm, laying down demon bone as a foundation serves to neutralize the altar’s lingering intent with the corpses and bones of the Demon Race, dissolving the Demon Realm’s rules. This facilitates the easier extension of the Shenxiao World’s rules into the area. While the Shenxiao World is not the Demon Realm and possesses its own independent rules, the one who created this world was, after all, of the Demon Race. And the one who established this altar was, after all, of the Demon Race.
The bone ashes of these Demon Race prodigies, such as Yang Yu, Rat Galan, and Spider Lanruo, can still play a significant role. The Faceless God is undeniably a wild god, but it is also a true demon race god, one that has absorbed demon race believers and flourished among them. It roams the Myriad God Sea unhindered, and is not rejected when traversing among the ranks of gods.
It can naturally also mobilize the divine power of the Myriad God Sea. As per the instructions left by the Faceless God, a city can be built upon this foundation. The Human Race naming the city built on the frontline of the newly opened battlefield “Wu’an” is, of course, a gesture of nostalgia. But when Marquis Wu’an, Jiang Wang, is not truly dead, it naturally becomes a point of connection, possessing a shared power of aspiration.
Just as Chu land for nine hundred years could not forget Huang Wei Zhen, and the mythic world of the mountain and sea border still recounts his tales… this is the cause of Huang Wei Zhen’s return years later. Those who recite the name of Marquis Wu’an, who miss the person of Marquis Wu’an, who recall the deeds of Marquis Wu’an… all are threads of the mundane world, a thousand connections. This power of aspiration cannot bring him back to the Civilization Basin; Jiang Wang does not possess the ability of Huang Wei Zhen.
But if the Shenxiao World could build a Wu’an City… The city in the Civilization Basin where the Human Race army is stationed, and this city built in the Shenxiao World upon the foundation of the Heaven Demon Altar, could potentially form an echo. As a common link between the two cities, he, the Marquis Wu’an of Great Qi, would then possess the possibility of reaching from one to the other!
Even so, with his current realm, although the possibility was created, realizing such a possibility would be extremely difficult. But he still had the Known Hear Bell! One ring of the Known Hear Bell would surely reveal the correct method.
Thus, at the very moment Tiger Taisui was mercilessly slaughtering gods, the strange statue of the Faceless God appeared before the bronze giant tripod, pouring the bone ashes of those Demon Race prodigies, covering the flickering embers within. The altar fire, once suppressed, reignited within the tripod, instantly blazing towards the sky once more!
Above those ferocious, clawing flames, the ethereal outline of a majestic city gradually emerged. Majestic yet silent, bearing the marks of knives and swords, with bloodstains as if newly spilled. Gods and the world simultaneously acknowledged its presence; the majestic city sought to hang in the sky!
Let us rewind time. Just as Tiger Taisui invaded and seized Spider String’s body, easily suppressing Bear Sansi… Dog Yingyang was soaring rapidly in the sky. He traveled within the blazing light that illuminated the heavens, becoming a part of the light itself. The Shenxiao Land held no sun or moon, yet light illuminated everything.
When Dog Yingyang’s figure rippled out from that flowing light, it signified that he had grasped the “truth” he sought. That Human Race prodigy, who had consecutively slain several Heaven Demon Seeds, indeed possessed admirable movement techniques. In the air, he transformed into a long rainbow, constantly changing position to evade pursuit, and one after another, red flame flowers bloomed silently behind him, burning away all traces before disappearing.
This skill in escaping alone warranted Deer Seven Lang’s reminder. Had he arrived a moment later, there was indeed a possibility that the prodigy could have escaped. But now…
His simple cloth robes fluttered lightly within the flowing light, and his right palm reached down— Consecutive mountain ranges were directly pressed into collapse, creating a massive sunken palm print! Jiang Wang’s rapidly flying figure suddenly halted before this palm-print chasm. The long, trailing rainbow shadow gradually faded and dispersed. A true demon had arrived, and with a single palm, shattered the green rainbow!
“Not a bad reaction, worthy of being a champion.” Dog Yingyang praised from above, and then raised his large hand once more. The wind retreated, vital energy ebbed, and countless stones and earth flew up from the sunken palm-print chasm. Jiang Wang’s figure was involuntarily pulled back, intending to retreat into the true demon’s grasp!
The fiercely burning Fire Domain instantly spread out. In the very center of the Fire Domain was Jiang Wang, his body already exploding with blood mist on the outside, desperately fixing himself in his original position! At this moment, he completely disregarded the limits his body could bear, almost endlessly urging his blood energy. His blood vessels constantly burst, only to be constantly repaired. And the endless blood energy born from this surged towards the sky!
His blood energy seemed to solidify into a sky-supporting peak, reaching into the vast heavens above and connecting with the boundless earth below. A foundation of extreme stability was thus born, temporarily helping Jiang Wang anchor his body.
Dog Yingyang let out a soft “eh.” Hadn’t the Immortal Spring been silent for many years? Why could it still provide such majestic vitality at this moment? The story of this Human Race prodigy infiltrating the Demon Race seemed to be becoming increasingly complex.
Jiang Wang used the blood energy peak to fix the Fire Domain, and used the Fire Domain to support his body, thus resisting the true demon’s capture. His body was beneath the blood peak, yet he surprisingly gritted his teeth and opened his mouth. Blood streamed from his mouth and between his teeth, yet he laughed: “Jiang Wang is not skilled, to trouble you to cross boundaries to chase me, may I know which true demon stands before me?”
“Still a polite child.” Dog Yingyang let out a soft sound, and to his surprise, responded seriously: “Illuminating Cloud Peak’s Dog Yingyang.” He did not boast but stepped forward. If he couldn’t catch Jiang Wang in one attempt, he would simply get closer. At this moment, consuming Jiang Wang was consuming the Demon Race’s Immortal Spring. Or rather, it was Celestial Venerable Deer Ximing’s Immortal Spring. Why bother!
He simply stepped into the Fire Domain, bearing the heavy pressure of the entire thousand-zhang spirit domain, yet still advanced step by step towards Jiang Wang. After he passed, the Fire Domain behind him merely revealed a pierced empty channel. His left hand lifted lightly, supporting the blood energy peak. While Jiang Wang used this to support his body, he used it to fix Jiang Wang! The sky-supporting pillar transformed into a body-imprisoning stake!
At the same time, Dog Yingyang’s right hand pressed forward in the struggling blood mist, seeking to directly press against Jiang Wang’s face. The gap between a true demon and a divine arrival was simply too vast; this was an all-encompassing gap from cognition to combat power. So he still spoke calmly: “Such talent as yours, so young, is about to fall here. Do you regret it?”
Jiang Wang struggled to look at the true demon, forcing his mouth open. Fresh blood coated the corners of his mouth and between his teeth, yet he laughed: “The new kings of the Heaven List were all slain by me. The Demon Race has no prodigies, hence they must send a true demon to chase me! Though I die, what regret?!”
The blood energy peak exploded with a boom! The thousand-zhang spirit domain exploded with it! Blood energy and spirit sense almost tore everything apart; the violent turmoil instantly swept everything away! Dog Yingyang’s hand was lifted high by the explosion. When his hand fell again, it immediately smoothed the turmoil. But Jiang Wang’s figure had already escaped a thousand zhang away. The power of the Immortal Spring was constantly restoring his injuries. At this moment, he urged his speed to its limit. The Known Hear Bell tied to his wrist emitted a long chime.
“How can an ant comprehend the favor of the heavens? Though the Demon Realm is small, there are still several such youths. Though the Shenxiao World is vast, how many such prodigies are there? Moreover, behold the Five Evils Basin, more new cities shall rise!” Dog Yingyang, who had smoothed the blood energy turmoil with his hand, again remotely aimed at the rainbow shadow, pressing a palm into space. The next moment, he sought to seize Jiang Wang’s neck.
Jiang Wang suddenly turned back, his sword cleaving a line in the sky! “Those like me are not alone. Many are superior to me, like the bright moon in the sky!” A line of red fire flowed upon the gleaming white sword edge, severing the energy originating from the true demon, causing Dog Yingyang’s outstretched large hand to grasp empty air! With this single sword strike, Jiang Wang was again a thousand zhang distant.
“He refuses to turn back until he hits the southern wall, eh?” Dog Yingyang chuckled softly. Endless flowing light instantly gathered before Jiang Wang. The light contracted, the light surrounded, the light formed a high wall! It connected to the vast heavens above, to the boundless earth below, and stretched endlessly to the left and right. Whichever direction Jiang Wang’s figure flew, this high wall of light extended in that direction, simply killing forward.
A Sword Immortal master integrates the Five Mansions, an absolute peak, a mountain-tilting sword… The high wall of light only rippled outwards from the point of impact, circle after circle. Jiang Wang himself, however, suffered cracked and wounded internal organs! He did not stop, but borrowed the momentum to rebound, turning his body to the right. If the light high wall was endless, then he would go to the endless place.
Dog Yingyang merely waved his sleeve, and countless flowing lights coalesced into swords, spears, halberds, axes, and glaives, greeting Jiang Wang with a barrage. The connected light walls served as soldier walls, vaguely suggesting several thousand demon-king level experts, each unleashing their ultimate moves, together seeking to slay the Human Race prodigy.
Jiang Wang directly threw himself into their midst! At the divine arrival level, the peak combat power of the Demon Race and Human Race are not the same. Restricted by life span, Human Race individuals who do not achieve divine arrival before fifty years old are generally considered unlikely to achieve great success. Those who are not divine arrivals by sixty years old are generally considered impossible to cross the heaven-man barrier. This is because the Human Race’s blood energy begins to decline after fifty. Of course, there are exceptions in history, but they are called “exceptions” precisely because of their rarity.
Meanwhile, the Demon Race is born with long lifespans, and king-sealing at two or three hundred years old is commonplace. The new kings on the Heaven List are young demon kings under a hundred years old. Jiang Wang did not possess the peak combat power of a top-tier divine arrival; he relied solely on the Immortal Spring and the Known Hear Bell to gain an edge. Even if he swept the new kings of the Heaven List, he could not truly say that the Demon Race had no prodigies.
But even saying so, even comforting himself thus… Dog Yingyang still had to admit that this Jiang Wang was indeed a first-rate prodigy. So exceptional that even a true demon strongman like him was unwilling to immediately kill him, but desired to observe the Human Race’s military capabilities from this young man’s body… How were their new research on dao techniques, how was their understanding of god-slaying sword techniques, how were the fighting skills of young Human Race individuals?
As a marquis of an overlord nation and the champion who seized the Yellow River, this person could be said to represent the most cutting-edge and vanguard divine arrival combat power of the Human Race. From him, one could glimpse several points of harvest. True demons are truly hard to find; any single point of harvest is an immense gain.
Of course, the several thousand sets of demon race martial arts he had summoned at this moment should also have dazzled this Human Race prodigy. But gains carried into the grave cannot be considered gains.
Within those swords, spears, halberds, axes, and glaives, surrounded by a thousand different demon race killing techniques, Jiang Wang was like a bird plunging into a thorn bush. Constantly advancing, constantly having its wings scratched. Those clusters of flying blood, were they not like blood feathers yearning to return home! But as the blood feathers fell, the flying bird advanced!
*Dang dang dang dang.* The sound of the bell, like a tune breaking the formation. Jiang Wang’s body, immersed in the blood of his sword techniques. His red-gold eyes, flickering with immortal light, were at this moment focused on nothing else but the various weapons, the various moves… And seeing the moves to break them!
The absolute world prodigy trapped in Frostwind Valley, for whom the Human Race built a city to commemorate him, at this moment unleashed his full fighting talent. His body like a swimming dragon, his sword like turning lightning. When he finally fought his way through all the flowing light weapons, his entire body was bathed in blood, having pierced through the array of a thousand soldiers.
Dog Yingyang also paused for a moment, watching the fire from the other shore, and praised: “That you can perform thus, the true tradition of the Buddhist family, the female of the Spider family, they died without regret, eh!” He then lifted his palm again, creating a brand new light wall, vertically connecting it with the previous one! *Peng!* The blood-dripping Human Race prodigy, his entire body erupting in red fire, vaguely transformed from a bleeding man into a man of fire, crashing directly through this barrier of light, leaving a human-shaped gap as he passed through.
What exactly was the Known Hear Bell ringing for?! Dog Yingyang was no longer calm; he pulled his body and again disappeared into the light. And after a flash of flowing light, he suddenly appeared in Jiang Wang’s path, but Jiang Wang had already folded and turned away a step ahead! “Stay your step!” Dog Yingyang spread his hands wide, and instantly the flowing light exploded into a sea.
The sea of light roared, encircling this Human Race prodigy. Above, below, left, right, front, and back, all were light. A light wall could be broken, but where could a sea of flowing light be wounded? Seeing Jiang Wang instantly become sluggish within the sea of light, his every movement slowing down, his aura fluctuating, his blood energy rapidly depleting…
Just at this moment, an explosion erupted from the distant god mountain. Terrifying fluctuations, a world-shaking battle was in progress. Countless voices of gods rose one after another— “Tiger Taisui! Stop before it’s too late!” “Return from your lost path!” Moreover, the Heaven Demon Altar ignited with a light that surged towards the sky.
Jiang Wang suddenly turned back, lifting his hand and shaking out a pile of hidden weapons. Red flames burned, frostwinds flew, killing intent was stern: “Dog Yingyang! Today, I curse you to death!” Although Dog Yingyang felt no fear, he cautiously extended a finger from afar and shattered them. It was only at this moment that he realized what he had shattered. It was a red, diamond-shaped vertical pupil, like a crystal.
His composure, his watching the fire from the other shore, his condescending gaze… all vanished. For a moment, his eyes cracked: “I will make your life worse than death!” Terrifying power exploded from him. But deep within the sea of light, the bell chimed! Wu’an City in the Shenxiao World was calling Wu’an City in the Civilization Basin.
A form of great connection subtly emerged. It was the greatness of the Heaven Demon sacrificing its body as an altar to protect its race, and also the greatness of the Human Race pressing forward, generation after generation passing on the flame. Between greatness and greatness, there was a common connection, a common path—
Jiang Wang’s figure within the sea of light became ethereal, and he stepped into the possibility of reaching from one to the other!
