Chapter 1814: Ambush! | Renegade Immortal
Renegade Immortal - Updated on March 7, 2025
A savage roar, laced with malice, erupted from the mists surrounding Wang Lin and from within his very being. A crimson tongue lashed out from the swirling fog, and the one-armed Ji Si, driven mad, charged forth, a living weapon aimed at Liu Zhiyuan.
Swift as lightning, the distance of several hundred yards vanished for Ji Si in the blink of an eye. Almost the instant Liu Zhiyuan turned, Ji Si, borne by the swirling mists, arrived with a chilling howl.
Liu Zhiyuan’s face paled. He clearly sensed the aura of an Early Void Tribulant emanating from the onrushing darkness. Horror flickered in his eyes as he recognized the being for what it was: a puppet. Without hesitation, he retreated, his sleeves billowing. Seven black lotus blossoms materialized before him, poised to meet Ji Si’s onslaught.
A deafening roar shook the heavens, drawing the attention of the six warriors battling hundreds of yards away. Liu Zhiyuan’s three companions’ faces darkened with worry, but the three 天牛洲 cultivators barred their path. They could not risk diverting their attention, yet this turn of events clearly favored them.
The seven black lotuses shattered, leaving Ji Si riddled with wounds, yet the puppet’s tongue, like a honed blade, pierced through the collapsing petals, striking Liu Zhiyuan squarely on the chest.
Blood blossomed, and Liu Zhiyuan cried out in pain. He barely had time to assess the injury. His celestial power was already depleted, further diminished by the mists’ strange absorption and the recent desperate summoning of the seven lotuses. Stumbling backward, he raised his right hand, a somber, glowing orb appearing in his palm, ready to be consumed in a desperate act.
Wang Lin raised his right hand, revealing a great white sail. With a sudden, forceful unfurling, a chorus of weeping echoed around them, piercing the wounded Liu Zhiyuan’s mind. In his mind’s eye, a blurry image of a white-clad woman materialized, her back to him, sobbing softly.
At the very moment the spectral woman appeared, Liu Zhiyuan’s hand, poised to devour the orb, froze.
Wang Lin advanced, his right hand a striking palm aimed at the heavens. The surrounding mists churned, forming a colossal handprint directly above Liu Zhiyuan, descending upon him with thunderous force.
Simultaneously, a flicker of fire ignited behind Liu Zhiyuan, and a palm of flames, seemingly born from the burning mists, lunged toward him!
This intricate sequence unfolded in an instant, a meticulously orchestrated assault born from Wang Lin’s calculations.
As the two fiery hands bore down upon Liu Zhiyuan, and the image of the weeping woman intensified within his mind, Ji Si, momentarily stunned by the prior blasts, unleashed another savage roar and resumed its assault. Furthermore, the shattered blood sword, now bathed in crimson light, reformed into a beam of concentrated energy, poised to cleave Liu Zhiyuan asunder!
A symphony of powers converged, exploiting Liu Zhiyuan’s dwindling celestial energy in a bid to finish him.
Yet, killing an Early Void Tribulant was a task of extraordinary difficulty. Despite Wang Lin’s masterful timing, Liu Zhiyuan’s pupils constricted in desperation as the onslaught reached its crescendo. He bit down hard on his tongue, spewing forth a mouthful of blood that instantly transformed into a crimson armor, encasing his entire being. Even his hair turned the color of blood.
His skin followed suit, transforming him into a blood-red figure. Clasping his arms, at the moment of impact, Liu Zhiyuan stretched them wide.
“Blood Armor Tremor!” With these words, the crimson upon Liu Zhiyuan’s body withered and hardened, forming a protective carapace. As he extended his arms, the blood armor erupted, unleashing a whirlwind of crimson energy.
The colossal handprint above him shattered upon contact with the storm of blood, as did the flaming palm, obliterating each other amidst a roaring collision.
The blood sword, in a flash of red, lashed against the crimson storm. Ji Si, in a frenzy, charged into the raging whirlwind. All coalesced into a deafening symphony of destruction.
As the earth trembled, Wang Lin moved through the storm, which was threatening to break apart at any given moment, and whose owner, Liu Zhiyuan, was spewing blood, and looking as if he was experiencing the worst headache of his life. But before it could, Wang Lin saw him retreat quickly, after taking a very good look at his body to study the damages.
As he stepped back, his eyes locked onto Wang Lin, who disappeared into the shadows. Liu Zhiyuan’s pupils shrunk once more as he turned around to attack.
Wang Lin manifested in his wake, lunging with a fist. But the fist was a fist of a true warrior!
The punch made him shake with the strength of the hit. Liu Zhiyuan’s right arm flashed with lotus, now made of blood and gore. As he turned around to face Wang Lin, he could sense that Wang Lin was not stopping anytime soon, and that it was just the start of their battle.
Wang Lin was overflowing with fresh blood, and didn’t stop. Instead, he pursued his target and kept assaulting him again and again.
With each strike, Liu Zhiyuan’s body was covered in blood, and each moment was one of pain. “What are you thinking? That will not kill me. This is not enough to kill me!”. Liu Zhiyuan deeply understood the current danger, as he could very well die at any moment. Each strike from Wang Lin was like death, and he knew that if he wanted to live, he would have to defeat Wang Lin.
As he retreated back, he took the chance of accepting a strike, and he blew apart the lotus that surrounded him. Then, raising his left hand, he summoned a black ring.
This was the first time he had taken the time to summon an item into his hand. And it was the best item he had! As the ring appeared, the faint sound of ringing echoed.
With the ringing, thousands of women’s ghostly figures surrounded him. Each one was a spirit with no body to call its own. Each one was filled with resentment.
And each one of them was there, so that they could try and win against Wang Lin!
Each one was stacked upon each other, creating a huge formation for them. It spread wide into the lands, and the sounds of the ringing and echoes made each person feel as if they were there in the moment!
The six Void Tribulants were fighting harder now, and they sensed the strong energy being created. They wanted to see, but the mists surrounded their minds and bodies, preventing them from seeing!
They were curious as to why Liu Zhiyuan wanted to unleash such a powerful force.
The Elder was able to feel the energy and knew the power that Liu Zhiyuan contained. He knew that something bad must have happened, and if that were not the case, he would not have released such a powerful item.
Lu Wenran gazed and sensed the energy being made, but the area of Liu Zhiyuan was blocked by an unseen barrier. He could not sense him.
This was the same issue that Yan Cui and the others were dealing with.
Wang Lin was in shock, but he was prepared. He was ready to give it all he had, but his true hidden skills were still waiting to be used.
He was ready to do what it takes to kill Liu Zhiyuan.
Without hesitating, he raised his right hand, and with a point, an item appeared above his hand. A container full of three million souls. Enough to be a threat to the Early Void Tribulants. But he did not unleash it. Instead, with one point, he unleashed a line of blood that seeped into the container, and out came roaring from the container, releasing three million souls, covering Wang Lin with a red road made of blood!
“With the use of my blood and spirit, I summon the great spirits and forces of the Grand Soul Door! Bring the souls and ancestors to me!”
At the edge of the bloody road, there was a huge force. The force was mixed with the surrounding mists, and out came darkness and a creepy energy that even Wang Lin could not explain. Out of the energy, a red figure stepped through slowly.
Each step that was taken made the surrounding area shake and break!
The sounds of resentment that Liu Zhiyuan was making shook as the bloody figure stepped through. Liu Zhiyuan’s face changed in that moment, and with a summon to the sky, he was able to turn his resentment into a giant figure, made of over ten thousand spirits. It was an image of a woman, made up of over ten thousand souls, that each had a face full of despair.
As the figure appeared, it opened wide its mouth, about to swallow Wang Lin whole.
But at that moment, the ninth ancestor of the Grand Soul Door, Luo Yunhai, walked out of the bloody road. The spear of the ancestor was raised. With the immense power, he unleashed the crimson spear, and hurled it into the souls of resentment.
At that very moment, the spear unleashed an energy that destroyed and made the souls collapse in on themselves.
With the great sounds and energy, Wang Lin spurted blood and retreated one hundred feet back. Behind him, the road of blood disappeared and faded away. The ancestor Luo Yunhai disappeared as well. As for the image of the souls, they collapsed, and with that collapse, Liu Zhiyuan spurted blood, and cried in despair as he retreated.
The souls that had collapsed were now surging towards Liu Zhiyuan, attacking him from within. But he was still alive, just very heavily wounded. Now was no time to think of war. Now was the time to escape!
“Godly Tremor, soldier form!”
“妖術 (demon skill), mountains of fire!”
“魔道 (devil’s path), moving life and death!”
“God, demon, all…, ancient path, no immortal!” Wang Lin said as he kept looking at Liu Zhiyuan, unleashing one final strike!
