Chapter 1119: Awe! | Renegade Immortal
Renegade Immortal - Updated on February 26, 2025
A surge of celestial energy, drawn from realms a hundred leagues in every direction, crashed inward, yet even this torrent seemed insufficient.
Bone upon bone, the upper torso of Wang Lin’s true form materialized, a skeletal framework taking shape while his lower body remained incomplete. The vortex beyond Moro Continent, a cosmic maelstrom of power, expanded from a mere hundred leagues to engulf a thousand.
Within that thousand-league radius, the colossal whirlpool churned and warped reality, drawing in celestial force and stardust with thunderous roars. But this expansion was far from over. Compared to the vastness of Moro Continent, a thousand leagues was but a speck. The vortex stretched to three thousand, five thousand, ten thousand, thirty thousand… a hundred thousand, three hundred thousand… a million leagues!
A million leagues beyond Moro Continent, the star-strewn void teemed with agitated stardust, and an almost maddened force howled as it funnelled through the vortex, plunging deep beneath the soil of Moro Continent, into the sanctuary of the Returning Origin Sect.
Few within the Cloud Sea Starfield knew the origin of this stardust. It seemed to have existed since the starfield’s very birth, a relic predating even the cataclysm that shattered the Immortal Realm, a vestige of the ancient Celestial Domains.
What *was* this stardust? A question the cultivators of the Cloud Sea Starfield struggled to answer. They only knew that it was the stardust that birthed the monstrous beasts that roamed their skies and lands.
Wang Lin himself was ignorant of the stardust’s true nature, but as his bones continued to coalesce, its integration instilled a curious, indescribable sensation.
As the celestial energy flowed inward from a million leagues around Moro Continent, the pace of his lower body’s formation exploded. Bone upon bone, they lengthened rapidly, defying the tribulations of the skeletal rebirth. Moments later, his left leg was complete!
Under this accelerated creation, his right leg followed, finally fully formed. With the complete reconstruction of his skeletal frame, the bone tribulation vanished!
But the trials of the Ancient God were far from over. The moment Wang Lin’s bones were restored, a network of veins erupted, and upon this latticework of crimson lifeblood, flesh began to sprout, only to instantly wither and crumble. The Flesh Tribulation, the second trial, descended silently, hindering the growth of flesh, aiming to dissolve his very essence.
Anticipating this, Wang Lin’s avatar wiped a trace of blood from his lips and raised his right hand, tearing open a rift to his storage.
From within flew fist-sized blood crystals, treasures gathered from the ancient God Lands. A portion had been used to sustain Wang Lin’s essence during the first tribulation; the rest were intended for this very moment!
Each crystal shot forth, embedding itself into Wang Lin’s bones, instantly permeating the core of his being.
The instant these blood crystals appeared, the retreating monstrous beasts surrounding Moro Continent halted, their eyes fixed on the land, emitting bestial roars. Their eyes burned with a rabid hunger, as though the blood crystals were a divine elixir. Merely catching a whiff of their aura drove them to madness.
Driven by this ravenous desire, they turned, charging directly towards Moro Continent. Fifth-grade, sixth-grade, even seventh-grade beasts, all driven by primal instinct, surged forward in a terrifying wave.
The cultivators of the Returning Origin Sect on Moro Continent were already reeling from the preceding events. The sight of this monstrous horde sent a jolt of terror through them.
Deep beneath the surface, Wang Lin’s true form absorbed the ancient God’s heart blood. Veins spread like rivers across his bones, and flesh began to grow along these bloody channels, nourished by stardust and celestial force.
But then, the muted roars of the approaching beasts reached the depths. A killing intent flared in the eyes of Wang Lin’s avatar, mirrored in the ancient depths of his true form.
With a series of cracks and groans, the three-hundred-league-tall form of his true self shrunk, rapidly assuming the size of a mortal man. At the same moment, his avatar surged forward, merging once more with his true form!
United, Wang Lin looked up, shooting forward with explosive force. The earth trembled as he burst forth, a streak of light tearing through the land!
The moment he emerged, countless monstrous beasts swarmed him, driven to a violent frenzy. Wang Lin’s eyes flashed with cold light. With a blur, he appeared beside an octopus-like beast, raising his right hand and delivering a devastating punch.
The beast convulsed, spraying blood as its body disintegrated into mist. Its very soul shattered under the force of the blow. Yet, a wisp of formless energy drifted from the collapsing body, rapidly merging with Wang Lin.
The essence of the beast’s life force! Precisely what Wang Lin needed most at this moment!
Feeling his body’s rapidly growing flesh absorb the life force, Wang Lin moved, streaking toward another beast. He moved so fast, his passage created afterimages. With his indomitable fist, blood rained upon the sky of Moro Continent!
One by one, the beasts that sought to devour Wang Lin’s blood crystals met their end, their bodies collapsing before they could achieve their goal. The air thrummed with the continuous echoes of destruction.
Wang Lin stepped forward, appearing beside a colossal serpent, its maw open, ready to swallow him whole. His fist smashed into its gaping maw, and with explosive force, the serpent’s body fell apart, inch by inch. The life force flowed into Wang Lin.
In moments, a hundred beasts lay dead. Wang Lin’s body surged with invigorating power, his eyes gleaming as he surged forward once more.
The scattered cultivators, witnessing the slaughter, could only watch in stunned silence. Even Lu Yanfei, having been prepared, was speechless. Li Xiangdong stared blankly, while the two elders at his side gasped. “Grand… Grand Ancestor… He… He is the Grand Ancestor… That was a sixth-grade beast! Annihilated by a single punch!”
A thunderous roar echoed across the sky. A lion-like beast, two hundred leagues in size and covered in sharp spines, appeared on the horizon. Its arrival sent other beasts scattering, seemingly unwilling to approach within a certain distance. “An eighth-grade Sword Lion Beast!” Li Xiangdong’s eyes widened, and his two elders gasped in unison. Even Lu Yanfei drew a sharp breath, her face etched with worry.
Wang Lin looked up, his eyes ablaze with a fierce light. Ignoring the surrounding cultivators, he shot skyward like a shooting star, hurtling toward the monstrous beast. He moved with the speed of lightning. As he neared the beast, Wang Lin raised his leg and unleashed a devastating kick!
The heavens reverberated with earth-shattering force. The monstrous beast froze for an instant, then exploded into a shower of blood mist. Immersed in the power of the beast’s life force, Wang Lin stood in the sky, a god amongst mortals!
Silence descended. The avarice in the remaining beasts’ eyes was replaced with terror. The cultivators stared in disbelief, unable to comprehend what they had witnessed.
“Eighth-grade…” Li Xiangdong’s mind was blank. The two elders beside him were equally speechless, overwhelmed by the spectacle.
