The Netherbeast’s roars intensified, its eyes wide with a terror that mirrored the churning void from whence it came. Never in its long, spectral existence had it been subjected to the gaze of so many it instinctively feared. Their eyes, like piercing shards of ice, threatened to unravel its very essence.
A dawning realization pierced through its bestial mind. These beings, sources of primal dread, sought to dissect it with their intent.
Panic surged. A thunderous bellow ripped from its throat, echoing across the land, sounding to all like a furious challenge. But in truth, it was the raw, unadulterated scream of fear itself.
In days past, the Netherbeast would have dissolved into shadow, fleeing with impossible speed. Yet, it was now inextricably bound to Wang Lin, whom it perceived as its sole anchor, its closest kin. Like a frightened whelp seeking the comfort of its mother’s embrace, the colossal beast lunged toward Wang Lin.
This desperate act, however, was met with horrified awe by all but Wang Lin. Even those familiar with the beast’s temperament shuddered, recalling its earlier consumption of the terrifying golden tempest. A chilling dread settled upon their hearts.
Even the mighty cultivators amongst them recoiled, though some now harbored envy and avarice within their gazes.
“Such a beast would amplify my power tenfold!” croaked Zhou De, a black-robed elder from the Zhaohe Starfield, his eyes glinting with covetous desire as he licked his lips.
“A Netherbeast…capable of swallowing the golden storm…This…this deviates from the legends! Should such a creature be mine, the power it could bestow…” Yun Fengzi echoed, his eyes gleaming with barely concealed greed.
“To possess such a beast, even without achieving the Great Transcendence, would be to command renown!” Others whispered, masters of the Ghost and Demon Sects, their gazes consumed by a feverish fascination for the creature.
“A bonded beast! This Wang Lin has tamed it… the Venerable’s choice may not be misguided…” Hong Xuzi’s gaze flickered, exchanging a significant look with the elder from the Corpse Yin Sect of the Alliance.
Amidst the retreating crowd, only Wang Lin stepped forward, his right hand gently resting upon the Netherbeast’s hide. The touch seemed to soothe the creature, the terror in its eyes slowly fading. A comforting warmth emanated from Wang Lin, chasing away the shadows.
From Wang Lin’s mind flowed waves of tranquility, silencing the fear-filled roars that echoed within the beast. It nudged Wang Lin with its immense head, as gentle as a kitten.
Yet, this seemingly tender gesture inspired fresh terror in the onlookers. The Netherbeast was immense, its head a mountain of spectral muscle. Even a gentle nudge carried the force of a battering ram, shaking Wang Lin’s form with reverberating cracks.
The impact was nothing short of cataclysmic, each thud a testament to a power exceeding that of a third-step cultivator. It was only recently in the ancient Star System that Wang Lin himself had been forced backwards by the beasts attack, demonstrating its boundless power.
Zhou De, the black-robed elder, gasped at the sight, instantly abandoning any notion of possessing such a beast. “My flesh is not weak, but neither is it impervious… To be nudged by that beast in a show of affection… My body would need constant repair! This is not the taming of a beast, but the worship of a tyrant!”
Yun Fengzi’s eyes bulged, his face contorting in a grimace. “I could not afford to keep such a creature. What if one day, in its joy, it nudged me during battle? A horrifying image flashed before his eyes, sending shivers down his spine.
The others who had dared to harbor greedy thoughts were now struck with a horror that eclipsed even the sight of the beast consuming the golden storm.
“That the Netherbeast can attack with such terrifying force!””To claim the beast is to embrace an early grave!”
“Only Wang Lin, with his formidable body, dares to care for such a beast, dares to allow it to show him such ‘affection.’ This entire spectacle is sheer madness.”
Harsh reality shattered their avarice, forcing the onlookers to reconsider.
Under Wang Lin’s calming touch, the Netherbeast’s fear subsided. But Wang Lin did not foresee what would emerge. A strange and ancient attribute was unleashed… the flick of its tail was followed by a grotesque snarl, and a low growl resonated through the air. It turned towards the cultivators who had filled it with dread, its eyes promising death. Its contorted face, combined with the resonating growl, suggested to any that dared to listen that, one order from Wang Lin would be enough to send it hurtling forward!
Even more alarming, the smooth skin was suddenly covered with a thick coat of bristling fur. Though it appeared soft to the touch, its menacing appearance amplified the beasts rage.
The Netherbeast was snarling, its glare intensifying, firmly fixed upon those who dared to cross its path. Even Wang Lin paused in astonishment as the beast exhibited a complete difference of character.
It took a step forward, and was restricted only by what appeared to be some invisible force, only increasing its frustration.
The Netherbeast exuded raw fury. Shuidazhi felt a wave of terror wash over him as his plans were completely destroyed by the presence of this strange Netherbeast.
Seizing the moment where attention was solely focused on the terrifying, but protective Netherbeast, Shuidazhi took flight.
Realizing what he was attempting to do, Wang Lin made one sudden and decisive step, the world shook as he followed.
Shuidazhi’s expression told of despair, spewing black blood into the air.
As cold as the blood was, it did not have time to travel as a force that had the same intensity but was red overtook the black. This was no ordinary force, and it created a tornado of energy in front of Wang Lin!
As Wang Lin approached, he clenched his fist, to deliver the second punch.
The punch shook the world and created a giant shadow, that then collided with Shuidazhi’s tornado of energy.
The force of Wang Lin’s fist was not enough to counter the force of the energy and was frozen in a flash, with the speed accelerating.
As quickly as the fist had become frozen, the wave of energy erupted, breaking the ice, and causing it to separate into countless fragments!
“EXPLODE!” Screamed Shuidazhi, his eyes burning red.
With the barrier collapsing and his fist was about to collide, Wang Lin thrust the fist forward and delivered the second punch with all of his might!
So quickly it all happened, the fist struck, and caused the energy to crash down upon Shuidazhi! In an attempt to defend himself he raised his hands to resist.
The instant that Shuidazhi’s hands touched, the sound of bone breaking in countless places could be heard and blood was now covering Shuidazhi’s hands!
With blood covering the world, Shuidazhi felt an irresistible force surge through him from Wang Lin, causing great torment.
The punch struck in a Mantis style, with arms being crushed in mere seconds, with Wang Lin delivering the finishing blow to Shuidazhi’s body.
Blood flooded as the body exploded, his soul fled in terror.
As Wang Lin floats in the air, he is still as still, and as quiet as stone. He had waited long enough for this moment, and nothing could stop him. All attention was on the fight, with all thinking Wang Lin was a battle god!
The flowing white hair was as white as the clouds in the sky, and was a memory that will not fade!
“Shuidazhi, you forced me to the brink of death, and now as the tides have turned, you flee from me like a dog!
This is your Karma, and I have come to reap your life! “Wang Lin was ready to collect the debt that he was owed!
“You cannot kill me! I am a Shinzong Elder, I am a Cloud Sea Deity, I am a servant of the Venerable, I can contribute to the realm and I have information about the outside! Spare me, and I will be your servant. I will be your servant do not kill me!!” Shuidazhi was a man of weakness despite his great strength, and he had forgotten everything he had once stood for!
