Chapter 1600: Volume Eleven: Ancient Mysteries, Transaction. | Renegade Immortal
Renegade Immortal - Updated on March 4, 2025
Wang Lin had no desire for a mortal clash with the Four War Generals. His arrival, sensing their potent auras, was not for bloodshed, but for a parley.
Yet, their unrelenting aggression, their refusal to parley, had forced his hand.
Now, as the Vermilion Bird materialized, Wang Lin’s gaze sharpened. His right hand relaxed, the bow dissolving into golden motes between his palms. Though the bow vanished, it could be summoned anew in an instant should these warriors attempt further treachery.
He clasped his fist in salute towards the Vermilion Bird, a venerable elder whose visage mirrored that of the Vermilion Bird from the Fallen Land.
“Greetings, fellow Immortal, is unnecessary, I am Wang Lin, and I greet the First Generation Vermilion Bird,” Wang Lin announced, his demeanor composed.
A complex emotion flickered in the crimson-robed Vermilion Bird’s eyes as he regarded Wang Lin, falling silent.
“There is a matter that perplexes this one,” Wang Lin continued, his voice steady. “What is your connection to the Fallen Land?”
“The Fallen Land… that is my true form,” the elder confessed. “During the ancient wars, I, alone among the Four Generals, left my true self behind. The being you see before you is but a splinter of that whole. Time, however, has blurred the distinction; you may consider them one and the same, or as two distinct entities.
“My control over my true form is minimal, limited to a faint sense of its experiences, yet I cannot sway its thoughts or desires.
“It is weary, yearning for its home, while I seek the Immortal Sovereign…” the Vermilion Bird lamented, shaking his head.
“The Bow of Li Guang! How did it come to be in your possession?” the White Tiger General demanded, his eyes reflecting a palpable unease.
“That is my private matter, which is none of your business,” Wang Lin replied with a frigid glare at the White Tiger, before turning his gaze back to the Vermilion Bird.
The White Tiger General’s face tightened, yet he held his tongue.
“The affairs of the Fallen Land are of no consequence to me. I came here seeking a bargain with the Vermilion Bird,” Wang Lin declared, each word deliberately chosen.
“Within the Ancient Immortal Domain, or rather, at the heart of the Seven-Colored Immortal Sovereign’s dwelling, lie remnants of the severely wounded disciples of the Seven Daos Sect. These are the so-called Immortals, practitioners of the Ancient Immortal Domain.
“If I were to unleash my full power, how confident are you that I could slay them all while they recover, turning this Ancient Immortal Domain into a desolate wasteland?” Wang Lin’s tone was calm, devoid of bloodlust, yet his words sent a ripple of unease through the Four War Generals.
Had Wang Lin not revealed the Bow of Li Guang, they would have dismissed his threat. But the sight of that legendary weapon cast a shadow of doubt over their confidence.
“The Bow of Li Guang is a renowned artifact of the Immortal Astral Continent, not easily wielded. Though you may have acquired a drop of undying Immortal blood, using it to draw the bow drains its power with each shot. You are no Immortal, unable to replenish your bloodline, so how many arrows can you truly loose?” It was the Azure Dragon General who spoke, his eyes gleaming with scrutiny.
“Three arrows are all it would take to obliterate this place! Even with the ancient statues of the Three Clans guarding you, even with the strange temple nestled deep within! If my suspicions are correct, that temple is the gateway from this domain, sealed shut and guarded by otherworldly creatures, the true strength of the Ancient Immortal Domain,” Wang Lin countered.
“I can do it. You know that.” Wang Lin’s gaze swept over the Four War Generals, then drifted towards the distant depths.
Upon entering this domain, his divine sense had not only detected the presence of the Four War Generals but also the faint aura of a strange temple. A potent force emanated from it.
“What is the bargain?” the Xuanwu General, clad in black robes, finally rasped after a prolonged silence.
“I care not for the treasures within this domain, nor your grand designs. All I know is that I was born within the Boundary, and now, invaders from the Outer Starry Sky threaten to overwhelm it. Even with the Bow of Li Guang, I cannot single-handedly slaughter them all.
“You are Immortals of the Boundary’s Ancient Immortal Domain. I demand that you emerge from this place and strike at the Outer Realm, ending this conflict once and for all!” Wang Lin proclaimed.
“The Outer Realm also harbors an Ancient Immortal Domain, populated by disciples of the Seven Daos Sect, loyal to the Immortal Consort. Their wounds were not as severe. The reason they have not yet emerged in force is due to the deep connection between the two domains. Should we breach the seals of the Ancient Immortal Domain, they will surely follow. The war between Boundary and Outer Realm will intensify, perhaps even leading to the destruction of this dwelling!” the Vermilion Bird cautioned.
“They cannot escape the Outer Realm’s Ancient Immortal Domain, for reasons that need not concern you,” Wang Lin retorted, waving his sleeve dismissively.
His declaration caused the Four War Generals to fix their gaze on Wang Lin, their eyes narrowing.
“Before, the lower realm requested our help to fend off the invaders, we sent an Immortal artifact to be integrated into the Boundary formation, thereby resisting a century, thus allowing us more healing time. This object is limited, but without the Celestial’s intervention, it would be difficult to open relying on lower realm cultivators.
Nearly 90 years have passed, leaving us with three years before we are fully healed!” the Azure Dragon General replied.
The Four War Generals even without Wang Lin proposed, would step out after three years to face the outer realms ancient doamins for the Seven Daos Sect and seek the sovereign.
The lower realm cultivators are no more than ants in their eyes, and they have no intention of being involved in Boundary conflict and slaughter, the death of the mortal will be of no concern to them.
As long as the Immortal Sovereign returned and their powers recovered, they could easily destroy the mortals, and open the heavens for renewal. Hundreds of thousands of years, everything will be the same.
But Wang Lin appeared, threatening to destroy the ancient immortal domain and killing them during healing, thus forcing them to reconsider.
“I will secure those three years for you, ensuring that no one disturbs your recovery!” Wang Lin declared, his voice calm.
The Four War Generals fell silent. Wang Lin’s offer to vanquish the Outer Realm’s Ancient Immortal Domain and safeguard them for three years only heightened their suspicion. His motives must run deeper than he revealed.
“What is it that you seek in this bargain?” the Vermilion Bird asked, his voice laced with suspicion.
“I seek the utter annihilation of the invaders from the Outer Realm!”
“I seek that no mortals of the Boundary should die, that should change from when you all emerge!”
“I seek that you will swear, once you find your Seven-Colored Immortal Sovereign, that you will allow me to lead all the beings of the Boundary away, granting them freedom from this domain, so that they may see the true sky!”
“Lastly, I want to step onto the Immortal Astral Continent! And there, I want you to give me whatever I need.” Wang Lin stated, and tapped the space between his eyebrows to remove his consciousness, turned them into silk floss.
“Agree, and offer your divine sense as a Dao Vow. Should you break it, your existence will be extinguished! Refuse, and I shall unleash the Bow of Li Guang and obliterate this Ancient Immortal Domain!” Wang Lin’s words were firm, allowing no room for hesitation.
The four of them exchanged glances, hesitating, his wishes are impossible to do, especially the third and fourth request.
“I give you one day.” Wang Lin, turning around and taking a step behind, at a thousand feet away on the broken earth, he sat with his legs crossed, and closed his eyes.
He did not care about what their final decisons were. Wang Lin actually has a hidden goal which is what he desires, he is giving them three years, so they will seek the sovereign.
He has too many guesses on the sovereign, but without strong evidence, he cannot say the relationship between the seven colored sovereign and this immortal sovereign.
Also the war ghost, has a riddle that directs to the Immortal Sovereign.
From clues, this war in boundary exists so many clues. With the sect head and the consort, they are staying in the outer realm. With lord feng of the mortals and others, live in the inner boundary.
The seven colored dao person is the head, while the war ghost is one of the inner realm, they have fought for centuries and they want to certify each other and find each other.
If he guessed right, there are too many things that are found, they are trying to find the heavens? Wang Lin said.
This will be revealed once these people leave this area, the truth will be torn up and become a lot messier. In this mess, he might reach his goal!
