“Invaders from beyond the Veil! For a century you have trespassed upon our realm, slaughtering countless souls. Now you are cornered. Since you refuse to yield, since you have unleashed this carnage, then today, none of you shall escape! Today, is the day of reckoning!” Wang Lin’s voice thundered, and with a gesture towards the star-strewn heavens, a colossal Wheel of Samsara materialized, its form shimmering with celestial energy.

“Slay!” Wang Lin roared, his form blurring as he charged towards the encroaching enemy ranks.

His battle cry ignited a fire in the hearts of the remaining warriors of the Realm Within. No longer cowering behind their faltering defenses, they surged forth, a tide of desperation and fury.

“Slay!”

Alongside them charged Qing Lin, Hong Shanzi, the purple-robed sorceress of Zhaohe, Mu Bingmei, the divine warriors of the Sect of the Gods, and countless others pushed to the brink.

Barely eighty thousand remained of the Realm Within’s defenders, but within each burned a defiance that mocked death itself, unleashed by Wang Lin’s bellow.

“The Wheel of Life and Death! Subjugate the cosmos!” With Wang Lin’s command, the Wheel of Samsara began to spin, its rotation slow at first, then accelerating into a dizzying vortex. From its core emanated an oppressive power, crushing all beneath its gaze, descending upon the hundreds of thousands of interlopers from beyond the Veil.

The heavens echoed with thunder. Tens of thousands of invaders coughed up blood under the crushing force, their bodies reeling. Some were pulverized into nothingness. Yet their numbers were vast. Shaking off their initial terror, they roared defiance and struggled against the Wheel’s oppressive influence, engaging the warriors of the Realm Within in a desperate, bloody melee.

The defenders spilled forth from their failing fortress, Wang Lin at their vanguard. Shielded by the Wheel of Life and Death, he carved a path through the chaos, his gaze fixed on the Void Ascendant powerhouses of the invading force.

His target was clear: to extinguish the lives of every great power on this field of battle.

His eyes scanned the sea of foes. He found her: the celestial concubine who had once tormented him with her arcane melodies. He remembered the agony of his withering organs, the black ichor that had threatened to consume him. That pain had forged a hatred that overshadowed all else. He cared not for her beauty or her station; she *must* die.

With a surge of power, Wang Lin became a comet streaking through the enemy ranks. Each step was a thunderclap, each touch brought obliteration. A crimson trail bloomed in his wake, as he marched toward his prey.

The bodies of the slain invaders crumbled, their heads remained intact. Wang Lin gathered them behind him, weaving them into a gruesome cloak of conquest.

Horror etched itself across the concubine’s face as she saw the death cloak begin to expand. Though possessing the cultivation of a Void Ascendant master, she quailed before Wang Lin’s implacable advance. The memory of his previous assault, the arrow that had pierced the heavens, filled her with an unshakeable fear, dwarfing her perception of his current power.

In her heart, she knew that she could not win, that to fight him would be to embrace certain death.

As she retreated, Wang Lin drew closer, each footstep a death knell. The path behind him was paved with gore. The severed heads trailing in his wake amplified the aura of destruction that surrounded him.

In an instant, Wang Lin closed the distance, standing barely a hundred paces from his prey. His eyes burned with crimson fire. He roared, the sound shaking the very stars, and lunged the last few strides, appearing a mere ten paces before the celestial concubine.

Her face was ashen. Sensing the cold intent to kill, she bit back a cry and summoned her ancient zither.

Her fingers danced across the strings, unleashing a torrent of sonic blades that ripped through the air towards Wang Lin.

Wang Lin’s face contorted in a furious scowl. The ancient god star-glyph upon his brow spun faster. His body did not grow in size, but the power of the ancient god permeated every fiber of his being.

He planted his feet, and the cosmos shook. The sonic onslaught crashed against him, inflicting grievous wounds, but he ignored the pain, his ancient god physique enduring the brunt of the attack. He marched onward.

The concubine’s fear peaked. Desperate, she performed a hand seal, striking the zither with all her force. The strings vibrated in agony, unleashing five distinct waves of sound.

“The Five Organs Technique! Heart! Liver! Spleen! Lung! Kidney!” The concubine shrieked, her voice echoing with each pulse. She thrust her five fingers towards Wang Lin, each representing a deadly invocation.

Wang Lin’s body shuddered. His organs screamed in protest. Yet, he was not the fragile cultivator he once was. He had ascended to the mid-stage of the Void and Spirit realm, his body now fused with the very essence of the ancient gods.

Though the pain was immense, though his organs threatened to rupture, Wang Lin moved faster. Fueled by an unwavering resolve, he slammed forward. Drawing upon the power of the Dao Ancient head, he combined it with the echoes of the three Ancient bloodlines, he unleashed an earth-shattering blow.

He roared, and unleashed a fist that swelled in power, dwarfing all nearby into a mountainous weapon.

The fist slammed into the concubine, shattering her organs in a wave of destruction.

Wang Lin tasted blood. She stood before him, not a phantom, but a true immortal.

The concubine retreated, wiping blood from her mouth, her fear now a palpable force. She valued her life far above all others, for she knew she was an exile, a stranger in this realm, and the consequences were far graver for her than all the mortals combined.

Wang Lin pressed his attack. The concubine uttered a sharp warning, before a golden aura exploded forth. The immortal powers enveloped the battlefield in a suffocating pressure.

“Wang Lin! We have no feud, no life debt! Why must you–” The concubine’s words were abruptly cut short. She shrieked and recoiled. The weapon that had sundered the heavens emerged, a testament to unyielding strength and justice.

It was the ancient bow and arrow, the weapon that had slain the Sovereign!

Even with the weapon in his hands, Wang Lin did not loose an arrow. The bow was simply a deterrent, a symbol of power to freeze his foe in place! With a snarl, Wang Lin stabbed his finger forward!

“Bind!”

The concubine froze. Yet, her immortality would not be denied. She quickly regained her senses, but it was enough. Wang Lin was upon her.

He chanted an incantation, his hands flowing into a complicated dance. The winds howled, shadows grew, and the heavens rained down in a torrent of white destruction. It was the magic of the Immortal Bai Fan.

Yet this was merely the first stage of a far more powerful attack. He gathered the water, wind, shadows, and channeled them into an ultimate move.

“Cloudy Shade and Sunlit Skies!” Wang Lin roared, as a blood red moon was summoned into the sky. The light washed over the concubine, as a dark mark washed over her face. She shrieked in horror.

The concubine turned and engaged, but in the end, she was not strong enough. Her body reeled back as she tasted blood.

Wang Lin staggered back, but like his foe, he would not stay down. Once again, he slammed forward. He slammed his palm in a final strike. The Spirit Seal.

The palm was vast and mighty, and it threatened to annihilate the concubine.

Her face contorted in horror as she summoned forth a divine echo. She would summon forth her ultimate guardian… before a voice echoed in her mind.

“Celestial of the Immortal world, concubine of the Seventh Dao Sect Lord… do you think I know nothing?”

He saw everything. Wang Lin saw her hidden history, and with the knowledge, the concubine hesitated. It was all he needed.

In that instant, Wang Lin brandished a crimson blade! He channeled his power, and struck forward with unbridled rage!
