Chapter 941: Deadlock. | Renegade Immortal
Renegade Immortal - Updated on February 24, 2025
For long had Wang Lin awaited this moment, years of careful nurturing coiled within his core! As he unleashed his fist, the primal energies of his body surged, weaving with the raw power of the Ancient God. The very air trembled. From afar, his fist seemed dwarfed by Pi Hua’s gargantuan finger, yet the punch birthed a tempest of might, a raging dragon of wind that roared forth to engulf the crumbling digit.
In that instant, Wang Lin’s right fist met its colossal target.
A thunderous boom echoed across the Immortal Continent, rattling Wang Lin to his core. He staggered back, each step a desperate retreat across the ancient land. His heels gouged deep furrows into the earth, each impact a resounding thud.
The monstrous finger, meanwhile, pulsed with intensified crimson light. A web of blinding energy engulfed it, and where Wang Lin’s fist had struck, the tip of the finger crumbled, succumbing to final dissolution.
After several paces, Wang Lin planted his right foot with ferocious force and launched himself forward, once more aiming for the diminishing finger.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Without pause, he unleashed a relentless barrage of fists, the power of the Ancient God erupting from within, each blow a hammer against the collapsing finger.
Finally, with a resounding crack, the finger shattered completely, its essence dissolving into raw, untamed energy. A swirling vortex of dust rose, a miniature sandstorm sweeping across the ravaged landscape.
High atop Mount Tian Yun, within the celestial halo of the Heavenly Fortune Sect, Tian Yunzi’s eyes gleamed with unsettling amusement. “I underestimated the treasures that boy possesses…” He raised a hand, and a gust of wind, imbued with the colors of the rainbow, materialized before him. It coalesced into a majestic, seven-hued wind dragon, which roared its defiance towards the heavens before vanishing into the ether.
The chromatic dragon, hundreds of feet long, writhed through the sky like a vibrant serpent, stirring a cyclone in its wake. Earth and sky alike bowed before its passage as it sped towards Wang Lin’s location.
Wang Lin’s face darkened. He fixed his gaze upon the approaching rainbow aura, recognizing the wind dragon for the predator it was. Its speed was blinding, and an aura of ravenous hunger emanated from its form.
“This dragon is not mere conjuration,” Wang Lin muttered, a chill running down his spine. “Within it lies the spirit of a true dragon!”
“Tian Yunzi… what games do you play? Did your calculations truly fail regarding the sliver of Yang?” Wang Lin sighed inwardly. Of all the souls he had encountered in his long existence, Tian Yunzi remained an enigma, his thoughts and motives forever shrouded in mystery, even after centuries had passed.
He had deduced the truth himself, yet he found himself ensnared in Tian Yunzi’s design. A shadow fell across Wang Lin’s face as his trepidation for Tian Yunzi grew.
*Taking the Yang fragment leaves me at risk, but refusing it would have allowed darkness to fester within my heart. Either way I would have fallen into Tian Yunzi’s plan! What’s your objective in setting up this double-edged trap? Do you hope the constant calculations leaves me unable to think for myself?*
*Bai Fan believes that he is capable of making Tian Yunzi make a mistake, but I know that even that thought was part of his master’s plan.*
*”Whether I hold on to this Yang fragment or return it to Tian Yunzi, my mind will still be in danger. This stalemate has no end… what should I do!” Wang Lin wondered as he stared at the approaching wind dragon from the horizon.*
*Even if I throw the Yang fragment away, there will be no success. This stalemate has no end…throwing it away will only cloud my judgement.*
*”I must not return it to Tian Yunzi, or I will admit defeat! If I return it, why did I even accept it in the first place…alas!”*
*But if I didn’t accept it, I would have still been in his plan! I have been forced into this position that I cannot escape! This must be one of Tian Yunzi’s long-term goals…and Bai Fan’s birth was nothing more than the first step!*
*I do not know Tian Yunzi’s true objective, but to escape, I need him to make a mistake, even if it’s just one! And by doing this, I will be able to escape!*
“To break this cycle! To make Tian Yunzi truly falter!” Wang Lin exclaimed as he looked at the sky, at the wind dragon that was getting closer and closer.
Just then, the wind dragon got closer and closer as it opened its jaws for Wang Lin! However, Wang Lin immediately came to a sudden stop, if the wind dragon was made of nothing but magic, it would have been impossible to resist! But there was a dragon spirit, something that Wang Lin could never forget. The time at the void space next to Looking Moon with the dragon crown! Wang Lin had to take out the dragon crown to fight the dragon spirit, but just then, loud laughter was heard from the sky as fire took over the sky, and a red Qilin rode on flames arrived.
The Qilin was very noble, but its eyes were filled with anger. On its back was a skinny elderly man, it was Sword Venerate Ling Tianhou! Around Ling Tianhou, four Primordial swords surrounded him, releasing sharp swordsmanship! The Qilin didn’t even look at Wang Lin, and stared down the colorful dragon and growled. If Ling Tianhou wasn’t around, the Qilin would have started to attack the wind dragon. Ling Tianhou jumped off the back of the Qilin and laughed towards the sky:
“Tian Yunzi, what a coincidence! I didn’t think that I would stumble upon you teaching your disciples again!”
As Ling Tianhou departed from the Qilin, the Qilin roared and unleashed a sea of fire towards the wind dragon! The wind dragon immediately roared as well, and began to fight the Qilin.
This came by very suddenly! Wang Lin looked at the scene and retreated before cupping his fist at Ling Tianhou and said: “Greetings, Sword Venerate senior.”
Ling Tianhou gave Wang Lin a deep look and gave him an encouraging smile:
“To be able to survive Tian Yunzi’s finger, your cultivation isn’t bad!”
