Chapter Eighteen
Two Eternal True Gods of the Qumeng clan, who had been leisurely drinking and chatting, turned their heads. They watched Luo Feng, whose aura was now clearly emanating from a distance, with keen interest.
“Is his mental fortitude really that weak? He lost control after just a musical illusion performance?”
“He’s probably an Eternal True God who just happened to break through from a wilderness tribe. He likely lacks secret techniques for cultivating mental fortitude, which would explain his weakness.”
“Such severe mental deficiencies make him an easy target.”
They found the situation amusing. As members of the royal Qumeng clan, they naturally felt superior to other Eternal True Gods. They believed the outsiders’ secret techniques were crude and their treasure weapons inferior. In their view, Luo Feng was simply a lucky individual who had stumbled into becoming an Eternal True God without significant mental fortitude training.
“What a perfectly good Hundred Flowers Feast, and he ruined the mood,” grumbled a tall figure covered in black fur, his blood-red eyes filled with anger. He had been deeply engrossed in the music, finding it an unparalleled enjoyment, but Luo Feng’s actions had disturbed his pleasure. This was Laimo, the third leader of the dark organization, the Blood Python Society.
“He’s just a newly appeared Eternal True God; there’s no need to pay him much mind,” said a black-scaled figure, taking a sip of wine. “The Dream Flower Pavilion Master will quickly have him removed, otherwise he’ll disrupt the entire Hundred Flowers Feast.” This black-scaled figure was the Blood Python Society’s head.
“How interesting,” murmured Lord Baiwu, one eye observing Luo Feng from within his misty form.
At that moment, all the other Eternal True Gods in attendance were focused on Luo Feng. It was natural for an Eternal True God to release their aura, triggering a primal instinct of caution in others.
Seeing this, the Dream Flower Pavilion Master, who was performing the musical illusion, had no choice but to pause.
“I knew he was susceptible to musical illusions, but I didn’t anticipate him losing control,” the Dream Flower Pavilion Master thought. She was helpless; she had to consider the feelings of her other esteemed guests.
The moment the illusion ceased, Luo Feng immediately regained his senses. He noticed that the table, food, and wine in his room were utterly shattered, and Eternal True Gods from various surrounding buildings were looking in his direction, seemingly discussing something.
“I lost control,” Luo Feng thought to himself. “It seems listening to the Dream Flower Pavilion Master’s musical illusions isn’t compatible with practicing the Seven Emotions Refining Heart Technique.”
“Brother Shang, my apologies,” Luo Feng said, immediately rising from his cross-legged position to address Shang Tianyan.
“It’s a minor matter,” Shang Tianyan chuckled. “I just didn’t expect you to be even more deeply immersed than I was.”
“The Pavilion Master’s music is truly extraordinary,” Luo Feng smiled. “It brought back many old memories… I think I’ll step out for a walk. Please, Brother Shang, carry on.”
Luo Feng glanced at Moluosha, then headed out. Moluosha promptly followed.
As Luo Feng exited the building, he gave a slight nod of apology to the Dream Flower Pavilion Master before leaving with his servant, Moluosha.
“He didn’t look at me with infatuation,” the Dream Flower Pavilion Master thought, feeling a slight disappointment. Being engrossed in the illusion didn’t automatically mean falling for her. “However, his resistance to illusions is clearly very weak, so there’s still an opportunity.”
“Ladies and gentlemen, there was a slight disturbance just now, please don’t mind it…” The Dream Flower Pavilion Master’s voice rang out, naturally soothing the minds of her guests.
“This unfamiliar Eternal True God likely possesses only average strength.”
“While other aspects are unclear, his mental fortitude is undeniably weak.”
Observing Luo Feng’s departure, the group of Eternal True Gods all formed their own conclusions.
“Master, are we no longer attending the Hundred Flowers Feast?” Moluosha asked, following Luo Feng.
“There’s nothing worth attending,” Luo Feng replied, shaking his head. Without practicing the Seven Emotions Refining Heart Technique, the illusion was negligible. But practicing it temporarily pushed him beyond his limits, leading to a loss of control. In contrast, Void True God-level musicians were more suitable for him.
“Your Excellency,” said Yuluo, the green-robed attendant, who had also followed them.
“Please arrange another location,” Luo Feng instructed. “Also, have Arouya come here.”
The green-robed attendant nodded, immediately sending a message to begin arrangements. Soon, she lowered her voice: “Your Excellency, the Hundred Flowers Feast is taking place today, and the Dream Flower Pavilion is very crowded. Arouya is performing elsewhere and will likely not be able to come for a while.”
“Oh?” Luo Feng’s gaze swept across the area. With the sensory abilities of his perfect divine body, he instantly pinpointed a particular hall where Arouya was performing.
Inside that hall, Arouya stood, with vines extending from her body to coil around various musical instruments. Many instruments naturally resonated, powered by divine energy, immersing the guests in an illusion. Once the performance concluded, Arouya immediately bowed, preparing to withdraw.
“Wait a moment,” said one of the young men seated prominently at the head table. This youth had four purple, curved horns atop his head, resembling a crown, and eyes that blazed with purple flames. Anyone with even a little discernment would recognize him as a member of the Moli clan from Huyang City.
Arouya could only halt her departure.
“I have visited Dream Flower Pavilion many times and listened to countless musical pieces, and you are the most talented musician,” the Moli clan youth declared. “I, Moli Lian, formally invite you to become a musician for my Moli clan. Are you willing?”
Arouya’s heart trembled. An invitation from a Moli clan scion? She didn’t want to go; she feared that entering such a powerful clan would reduce her to a mere plaything.
Beside Moli Lian sat a red-haired man, who chuckled and said, “Arouya, Moli Lian is a genius among the younger generation of the Moli family. He has even received personal guidance from Commander Moli Xiao of the Huyang Legion, and his chances of becoming an Eternal True God are exceptionally high. His personal invitation is a true honor for you; what is there to hesitate about?”
“I am a musician of the Dream Flower Pavilion; I cannot leave without permission,” Arouya whispered.
“As long as you are willing, the Dream Flower Pavilion Master will still grant my Moli clan due respect,” Moli Lian said with a smile.
“Young Master Moli Lian… I—I don’t want to go,” Arouya said, gathering her courage. If she truly joined the Moli clan, she wouldn’t be able to offend any of the core members; she would simply become a plaything, called upon and discarded at their whim.
Moli Lian’s brow furrowed slightly.
Seeing this, the red-haired man immediately interjected, “Arouya, you’re from the Thousand Leaf Vinegrass clan, aren’t you? If I recall correctly, the Thousand Leaf Vinegrass clan resides within our Blood Python Society’s territory.” The Blood Python Society was one of the nineteen dark factions in Huyang City, secretly controlling the entire city.
Arouya’s face paled upon hearing this.
“The Thousand Leaf Vinegrass clan, with its nine Void True Gods and over ten thousand True Gods, resides in Huyang City’s Snow Winter District,” the red-haired man continued, looking at her. “I believe I haven’t misremembered.” He needed to find ‘fat sheep’, and once found, they had to be slaughtered.
“Hall Master Duan,” Arouya began, hesitating. She was truly unwilling. How could she, on her path of cultivation, resign herself to being a mere plaything? Yet, she was afraid—afraid of the Blood Python Society!
“Duan Moyun, your Blood Python Society’s influence is quite ordinary,” Moli Lian chuckled, his eyes chilling slightly.
The red-haired man, equally irritated, glared at Arouya. “You insignificant musician, you’re given an opportunity and you refuse it? Get out!”
Arouya felt as if she were sitting on pins and needles, utterly unable to leave. She could tell that Hall Master Duan Moyun was furious, and if she simply walked away now, it would likely bring great disaster upon her entire Thousand Leaf Vinegrass clan.
Just as Arouya found herself in a predicament, a purple-robed attendant hurried into the hall, offering profuse apologies. “Young Master Moli Lian, Hall Master Duan Moyun, please don’t be angry. Since Young Master Moli Lian has extended a personal invitation, it is naturally Arouya’s good fortune. Allow me to persuade her.”
Moli Lian nodded slightly.
The red-haired man, Duan Moyun, sneered, “This little musician is quite bold.”
“Yes, yes,” the purple-robed attendant agreed, moving to guide Arouya out of the hall.
Suddenly, the entire hall fell silent, everyone present appearing as if frozen in a painting, unable to move or utter a sound.
At that moment, a black-haired man entered the hall, accompanied by a simple, honest-looking servant.
“Dream Flower Pavilion?” Luo Feng scoffed. “I stated that I greatly appreciate Musician Arouya! How dare your Dream Flower Pavilion hand over a musician I value to a mere brat?”
Everyone present was gripped by terror, including Young Master Moli Lian and Hall Master Duan Moyun. They were utterly terrified. When an Eternal True God turns hostile, they can easily crush them. Though they possessed powerful backgrounds, background didn’t equate to personal strength! At this moment, Luo Feng clearly disregarded their affiliations, reducing them to nothing more than two Void True Gods.
“Lord Luohe!” the green-robed attendant exclaimed, following him into the hall, filled with anxiety. “It is our Dream Flower Pavilion’s mistake.”
“Silence,” Luo Feng commanded.
The green-robed attendant instantly fell silent.
Luo Feng’s gaze swept indifferently over Hall Master Duan Moyun and Young Master Moli Lian. “From today onwards,” he stated calmly, “neither of you shall set foot in the Dream Flower Pavilion again.”
“And as for you, Dream Flower Pavilion,” Luo Feng continued, his gaze sweeping over the green-robed and purple-robed attendants, “Arouya is under your care. If you cannot protect her, then hand her over to me! Do you understand?”
The green-robed attendant nodded repeatedly.
“As for the Blood Python Society, the Moli clan, and the Dream Flower Pavilion,” Luo Feng said with a faint smile, “if anyone is dissatisfied, they are welcome to come find me. I will extend a warm welcome.”
With that, the invisible aura receded, and everyone in the hall regained their freedom of movement. However, each person was inwardly shaken, not daring to utter a sound for a long moment.
“Arouya, come with me,” Luo Feng stated, then walked directly out of the hall.
“Hehehe…” Moluosha scanned the surroundings, chuckled a few times, and followed his master out. He had been ordered not to cause trouble himself, but if his master, Luo Feng, instigated trouble, Moluosha was entirely in favor.
Arouya and the green-robed attendant followed them out, both somewhat bewildered.
Inside the hall, only Young Master Moli Lian, Hall Master Duan Moyun, the purple-robed attendant, and their subordinates remained.
“This is simply too…” Moli Lian felt both humiliated and enraged, yet he was powerless.
“He completely disregards the Blood Python Society, the Dream Flower Pavilion, and the Moli clan,” the red-haired man, Duan Moyun, fumed. He immediately used a communication token to report the detailed situation to the Blood Python Society’s President and Vice-President. At that very moment, the Blood Python Society’s President and one of its Vice-Presidents were attending the Hundred Flowers Feast.
“We must inform the Pavilion Master,” the purple-robed attendant likewise declared, immediately relaying the full details of the incident to the Dream Flower Pavilion Master.
Luo Feng arrived at the familiar Orchid Star Hall, where food and fine wine had already been prepared.
The green-robed attendant whispered, “Your Excellency, today’s events might lead to some trouble.”
Luo Feng merely glanced at her, saying nothing. He had already shown immense restraint! To avoid causing significant trouble for Musician Arouya, he hadn’t even lifted a finger! Earlier, when he heard Hall Master Duan Moyun threatening her with the Thousand Leaf Vinegrass clan, Luo Feng had felt a surge of murderous intent. This type of coercion, threatening an entire clan, was what Luo Feng despised most. While killing them would have been satisfying, it would have created considerable trouble for Arouya. Therefore, he exercised extreme restraint, merely offering a few warnings. That was already immensely merciful!
“Lord Luohe,” a Blood Python Society member said respectfully, approaching the hall’s entrance. “My Vice-President is also attending the Hundred Flowers Feast and heard of a minor disagreement between our Blood Python Society’s Hall Master Duan Moyun and Your Excellency. Therefore, Vice-President Laimo specifically dispatched me to invite Your Excellency to the feast!”
“He wants me to attend his feast?” Luo Feng questioned, raising his wine cup. “If he wishes to see me, he should come to me personally! There’s no reason for me to call upon him!”
