Chapter 450: Recording Corridor | Swallowed Star 2: Origin Continent [Trans]

Starfall led Luo Feng as if traversing a map, crossing vast territories.

“Hmm?”

Luo Feng noticed an independent spacetime appear, enveloping him and Starfall. This independent spacetime, carrying the two Lords, rapidly plunged into the deepest reaches of spacetime. It continuously fell, and spacetime distorted. “Where is this going?” Luo Feng watched the scene before him with curiosity.

“You’ll find out in a moment,” Starfall chuckled.

The surrounding spacetime twisted with increasing intensity, far beyond what normal Lords and Ancestors could perceive. Finally, Luo Feng and Starfall suddenly entered a secret place.

“Hmm?”

Luo Feng stared in astonishment at what lay before him.

Before them stretched a corridor of time. At the end of the corridor stood a majestic altar.

“This is the mysterious place, the ‘Corridor of Records’.”

Starfall stood in the corridor, looking out.

Luo Feng also looked out. The boundless Hunyuan Space had become a colossal sphere, shrunken countless times, with the Corridor of Records positioned at its very center.

Standing in the Corridor of Records, one could see all regions of the boundless Hunyuan Space.

“Standing in the Corridor of Records, the boundless Hunyuan Space is all within view…” Starfall smiled.

“The boundless Hunyuan Space is quite wondrous; it appears different from various perspectives.”

Luo Feng nodded.

He had observed it from the perspective of the Land of Fluctuations, and also from the perspective of the Abyss of Destruction. Now, he viewed it from the perspective of the Corridor of Records.

“Follow me!”

Starfall advanced along the corridor.

Luo Feng also looked at the walls on both sides of the corridor. Adorning the walls were numerous carvings.

They depicted many scenes from the history of the boundless Hunyuan Space.

There were scenes of Mo Xu and the Original Ancestor’s birth.

There were scenes of the Giant God Emperor roaring. There were scenes of the Infinite Serpent coiling and enveloping a cluster of worlds.

There was a scene of Yuan emerging from the Origin World from within his belly.

“This is the past of the boundless Hunyuan Space,” Starfall said. “This corridor records some scenes significant to the entire boundless Hunyuan Space.”

Luo Feng nodded.

He walked and observed. All eight Lords had moments recorded in the corridor. Nearing the end of the corridor, Luo Feng saw his own carving.

He stood holding the Blood Shadow Blade on the 34th level of the Abyss of Destruction, and the World Envoy of the 34th level of the Abyss of Destruction respectfully submitted to him.

The final scene at the end of the corridor depicted the eight Lords breaking into the core of the Ancestor faction’s formation, with a blade light cleaving half of the Original Ancestor’s ‘Absolute Sphere’ body. The other Ancestors were filled with terror. At the very end of the corridor stood a majestic altar.

The altar was shrouded in layers of illusions, making it difficult to discern what lay within.

Above these layers of illusions, occasional images flickered by.

“These illusory images?” Luo Feng’s expression remained unchanged.

Though they flashed by, he had already remembered them — the grey-robed woman, Sha Zhou, was in the mysterious place, the Valley of 通谷之地 (Tōng Gǔ Zhī Dì), where an endless, terrifying power gathered around her, completely under her control.

“Sha Zhou can refine and control the Valley of 通谷之地?” Luo Feng realized the significance of this scene.

“Luo Feng, don’t pay too much attention to these,”

Starfall, however, was unconcerned, smiling as he said, “The more you understand about the future, the more you’ll realize these scenes aren’t that significant…”

Luo Feng listened.

“The present is set, but what about the future?”

Starfall chuckled, “Let me give you an example: suppose there are a hundred million possibilities for the future a million epochs from now. What about the future ten million epochs from now? Building on those hundred million possibilities, each possibility could, on average, evolve into hundreds of millions of possibilities, cumulatively amounting to a hundred million times a hundred million possibilities! The further away from the present, the exponentially higher the number of future possibilities.” “This is a simple example, but the actual evolution of the future is far more complex. Even I cannot explore too distant a future.”

Starfall said, “The scene you just saw of Sha Zhou controlling the Valley of 通谷之地 is likely just one of those countless billions of epochs into the future, merely one possible outcome.”

Luo Feng understood. “The future depends on probability!”

Starfall said, “If you see the same future over and over again, then you need to be careful!”

On the illusory projections of the altar, Luo Feng saw another image. It was the Infinite Serpent Ancestor forming a truly colossal body, a body so immense that it surpassed any living being in this era.

“Infinite Serpent Ancestor?”

Luo Feng watched intently.

“An immortal and indestructible existence, the longer it lives, the more hope there is for some powerful futures to emerge,” Starfall chuckled. “However, if it only appears once or twice, it’s not very significant.”

“Starfall, have you seen any important futures that have appeared repeatedly?”

Luo Feng inquired. Starfall paused, then nodded slightly, “I have seen one future, and it has appeared multiple times. It is a crisis for our cultivator faction, and also for the innate Hunyuan faction and the Ice Peak faction.”

Luo Feng’s expression subtly changed.

“Na Gu!” Starfall said, “The source of this crisis is Na Gu.”

“Impossible!”

Luo Feng frowned, “Na Gu is also wholeheartedly dedicated to the cultivator faction.” “Na Gu is destined to follow the Heart-Severing Method. Even without the threat of Mo Gu Si’s soul techniques, after long years of cultivation, he would still choose the path of the Heart-Severing Method.”

Starfall looked at Luo Feng, “He will refine and control more and more Ancestor bloodlines. Twenty. Thirty. Each Ancestor bloodline will become a sub-consciousness within him. Do you think, when dozens of Ancestor bloodline wills influence him simultaneously, under this collective consciousness, is he a Lord, or an Ancestor?” Luo Feng paused slightly.

He remembered that Na Gu and Jin were both calamity-type cultivators.

Such cultivators slaughter billions solely for their own sake!

Their concern for the faction is probably not as great as his own, Elder Brother Yuan, or Ming Huang. “At that time, he will not be for the cultivator faction, nor for the Ancestor faction, but only for himself,”

Starfall said.

“Of course, that’s just one possible future!” Starfall said, “Because it’s too distant, I’ve traveled countless timelines in the future and haven’t observed it. I’ve only seen it multiple times in the altar’s illusory projections.”

“Is there a way to influence the future?”

Luo Feng asked. “I can deduce a lot of information by observing the images presented by the altar’s illusions.”

Starfall smiled slightly, “Our boundless Hunyuan Space is very young, it can still accommodate many Ancestors and Lords, and there are still too many variables…”

“Right now, the Valley of 通谷之地 seems difficult to refine, but in the future… Sha Zhou might be able to control it.” “Like the Wall of Fire Purgatory, one of the three mysterious places, whose origin has not yet been found. But in the altar’s illusions, I saw that the boundless Ancestors will be able to harness a portion of the Wall of Fire Purgatory’s power in the future…”

“And our several Lords, the Lords will become even more powerful…”

Starfall looked at Luo Feng, “Even if Na Gu truly becomes a threat, I believe there will still be forces capable of suppressing him. For example, you, Luo Feng, can suppress him.” Luo Feng looked at the layers of illusions on the altar.

“Is it possible to see oneself?”

Luo Feng asked… “Based on my experience, the future revealed by the altar’s illusions never shows oneself…”

Starfall said.

Luo Feng didn’t pay too much attention. He was already the strongest of his generation, and as he developed further, Luo Feng was still confident in facing anything!

“Luo Feng, I now need to open the altar and require you to provide energy…”

Starfall said.

“Alright!” Luo Feng nodded.

Starfall looked at the altar, immediately burning his combat avatar, unleashing a surge of power.

Starfall’s immense power began to surge into the layers of illusions on the altar, starting to influence these illusions and change them. With his achievements in spacetime, continuously maintaining the extreme burning of his combat avatar, the effect was significantly better.

In just a moment, after expending energy equivalent to burning a hundred combat avatars, Starfall finally opened the altar.

The moment the altar’s illusions parted, Luo Feng saw a book, suspended in the center of the altar. Whoosh…

Starfall immediately divided a clone, which entered the inner core of the altar…

The altar then closed again, shrouded in layers of illusions.

“My clone has entered the core of the altar and can stay there for a long time now!” Starfall looked at Luo Feng with a smile.

“Thanks!”

“That book?”

Luo Feng inquired. “The manifestation of the origin of the mysterious place, the ‘Corridor of Records’.”

Starfall smiled, “If I can refine it, I can control this mysterious place.”

“Is refinement difficult?”

Luo Feng asked. “The land of records, time, and space are only part of it. The core is the ‘Dao of Karma’!”

Starfall didn’t hide anything. “However, my path of spacetime is powerful enough, and with your help, I could force my way in. In the coming years, I will need to cooperate with the origin to serve as a record-keeper. As long as I do enough and do it well, and spend some more time, I will be able to control the Corridor of Records…”

Luo Feng nodded with delight. He saw the book and vaguely sensed its hidden power, allowing him to determine that the ‘Corridor of Records’ was a medium-grade mysterious place.

Starfall’s strength would increase, which would also benefit the entire cultivator faction.

“This altar’s illusion, it can’t show oneself?” Luo Feng looked and asked, “Have you ever seen me?”

“Of course I have!”

Starfall chuckled, “In the boundless Hunyuan Space, your blade is the strongest.”

Luo Feng smiled. He was not skilled in the aspects of spacetime and karma within the Corridor of Records. After spending some more time there, he also saw some possible future scenes of Na Gu, Yuan, and Ming Huang, but ultimately, Luo Feng left.

The core of the altar.

Starfall sat cross-legged, a pen in one hand and a book in the other, diligently recording… “Luo Feng!”

Starfall looked up.

From the core of the altar, one could also see layers of illusions.

Among the layers of illusions, occasional images flickered, and Starfall saw one such image. It was a gloomy, majestic hall, whose aura was enough to make the entire boundless Hunyuan Space tremble.

Inside the hall, there was a main seat, with 108 seats arranged on either side.

A majestic figure sat on the main seat; it was Luo Feng. On the 108 seats on either side sat various figures.

Among these figures were Mo Xu, Jin, Ka Fu Xiu, the Boundless Ancestor, and even Sha Zhou.

“The largest faction of the future!” Starfall then lowered his head and continued recording.

He had seen this scene of Luo Feng too many times.
