Chapter 261: The Heart of the Devil City (Part 2) | Throne Of Seal [Trans]

Throne Of Seal [Trans] - Updated on March 14, 2025

In the sky above this massive city, dark clouds loomed, starkly contrasting with the environment outside its walls. Not a single ray of sunlight could penetrate within the city. From afar, Long Haochen could only vaguely discern a hazy black aura constantly rising from within the city towards the sky.

Just by looking, he could feel a distinct sense of oppression. The Light-attributed Spiritual Energy within his body seemed to be severely suppressed. The concentration of Dark elements here was at least three times higher than outside.

Slowing his pace, Long Haochen tidied his clothes, took out the token Yue Ye had given him, held it in his hand, massaged his cheeks to relax his expression, and then strode towards the direction of the Demon Capital Heart City.

The fatigue from running wildly through the night needed recovery, and he couldn’t summon the Light Elemental Fairy, Yating, a sun-like being in Demon territory, to help him. Slowing down was a way to gradually recover from his physical exhaustion.

From the moment he saw Heart City to the moment he walked through its city gates, Long Haochen took a full half-hour.

Heart City was enormous, so much so that each side of the city wall had ten gates, a unique feature in the history of the Holy Demon Continent.

Long Haochen chose the East Gate, which was guarded by the Moon Demon Clan.

The four gates of Heart City were guarded by the Demon God Clans ranked second, third, fourth, and fifth. The East Gate was the Moon Demon Clan’s territory.

Long Haochen’s current appearance clearly marked him as a Moon Demon Clan noble, perhaps with a touch of travel weariness. After showing his Moon Demon Viscount token, he was immediately and respectfully ushered into the city by the Moon Demon Clan soldiers guarding the gate.

However, Long Haochen’s back was covered in cold sweat because even these lowest-ranking Moon Demon Clan soldiers seemed to have around Fourth Rank strength, no less than the Great Demons of the Demon Clan. He couldn’t help but think that if Princess Yue Ye didn’t have some human blood in her veins, her strength would have been far more than Fifth Rank when he met her.

Seemingly calm as he walked into Heart City, Long Haochen stopped in a relatively secluded corner, surveying this core city of the Demon Clan.

The roads inside Demon Capital Heart City were very wide, enough for ten of Yue Ye’s large carriages to travel side-by-side without crowding. Shops lined both sides of the streets, many of them high-rise buildings. The ancient styles even hinted at architectural features from glorious eras.

Six thousand years had passed. While the Demon Clan brought immense disaster to humans, they were also gradually integrating various knowledge from the human world. At first glance, this city seemed no different from human cities, perhaps even more prosperous than any human city.

But a closer look revealed the difference. The vast majority of the buildings here were black, or at least in cold colors. Although humans could occasionally be seen on the streets, there were more Demons of various types. Of course, low-level Demons like the Zelin Clan Double Blade Demons were nowhere to be seen here. More common were powerful existences. Clearly, being able to reside in Heart City was a symbol of honor for any Demon.

Is this the Demon Clan’s foundation? Long Haochen thought to himself, because he had already seen at least four Sixth Rank experts and even one Seventh Rank existence among the Demons passing by on the streets. And they walked on the streets of Demon Capital Heart City like ordinary civilians, without a retinue of attendants.

After a brief observation, Long Haochen didn’t linger and headed straight for his destination. He had a map, and after entering the East Gate, it was impossible to get lost in this almost square city.

Demon Capital Heart City was simply too large. Long Haochen entered by the nearest gate, and by the time he reached the Moon Demon Palace, a full hour had passed.

Despite having some prior knowledge of Heart City, Long Haochen was still filled with awe when he stood before the Moon Demon Palace.

It was simply another small city!

The dark purple high walls were over thirty feet tall, and the wide palace walls directly formed a square of unknown size with the city walls. The palace walls were dark purple. Reaching here, Long Haochen could clearly feel the dark elements in the air increase again. The dark element fluctuations here were twice as strong as in other parts of the city.

Even the Holy Alliance Great Trial Field was probably not as large as this Moon Demon Palace. And besides the Demon Emperor Palace, there were three other such places in Heart City. Long Haochen suddenly felt somewhat powerless. How much power would be needed to break through such a strong Demon Capital? Could humans really have a day when they completely defeated the Demon Clan?

This thought flashed through his mind, but his faith was unwavering, and he quickly returned to normal.

Arriving at the Moon Demon Palace gate, Long Haochen simply took out his Moon Demon Viscount token and waved it before striding inside.

A Moon Demon Viscount, this title wasn’t just effective within the Moon Demon Clan, but throughout the entire Demon Clan. As a Moon Demon Clan noble, he held a respected position. Only the Moon Demon Clan leader, Moon Demon God Agares, had the authority to directly command him.

The guards saw this young Moon Demon Viscount and hurriedly bowed in greeting, not doubting Long Haochen’s identity at all.

Besides the token, Long Haochen’s appearance, which could even be described as stunning, was the best verification. Among the Moon Demon Clan, the higher the status and the stronger the clan member, the more handsome or beautiful they were. Long Haochen’s appearance was probably unmatched even by the Moon Demon God Agares. The guards, upon seeing his purple eyes and appearance, immediately and unhesitatingly stepped aside, not even daring to look at the token he waved.

The Moon Demon Palace was vast. Long Haochen followed the map Yue Ye had given him, moving quickly while completely concealing his aura.

He knew the dangers here very well. The Moon Demon God was the second strongest of the Demon Clan’s seventy-two pillar Demon Gods. Within this Moon Demon Palace, there were probably no fewer than ten Ninth Rank experts. If he was exposed here, his only option was to immediately use his blood contract with Haoyue to teleport away. He couldn’t even stay for a moment.

His appearance became the best pass. Long Haochen was secretly amazed as he walked along. Every Moon Demon Clan member he saw, regardless of gender, age, or strength, would unconsciously reveal respect and even voluntarily step aside and greet him, allowing him to pass first.

Although Yue Ye had mentioned the importance of appearance within the Moon Demon Clan, Long Haochen didn’t expect it to be so significant. But no matter what, it was a good thing, saving him a lot of trouble.

The Moon Demon Palace was divided into the outer palace and the inner palace. The outer palace was inhabited by Moon Demon Clan experts, while only the direct line of the Moon Demon God could enter the inner palace. Compared to the wide, high walls of the outer palace, the inner palace was truly more like a palace.

When Long Haochen entered the gate of the inner palace, he was finally checked, but his Moon Demon Viscount token worked. The emblem representing the direct line on the token allowed him to easily pass through.

Stepping through the gate, Long Haochen suddenly felt some difficulty breathing. The dark elements here were simply too dense, so dense that they were viscous. With each breath, dark elements seemed to rush into his body, clashing fiercely with his own Light elements.

This feeling was definitely not pleasant. Long Haochen understood that if he stayed in this place for a long time, his cultivation would probably be constantly weakened.

It seemed that the Moon Demon God’s Demon God Pillar should be in this Moon Demon Palace. But he didn’t know where.

The purple, towering palaces stretched undulatingly, noble, elegant, and filled with a strong sense of majesty. This inner palace alone was comparable in scale to the Holy City Executive House of the Holy Temple Alliance.

After entering the gate, Long Haochen didn’t dare to look around much. He quickly detoured from the side, bypassing the palace in front, and made several turns. In a relatively secluded part of the inner palace, he walked to a small, unassuming bedroom.

Surrounded by lush plants, this bedroom was more elegant than the other towering palaces.

“Stop! Don’t you know this is the Princess’s bedroom? How dare you barge in?” Two tall female Moon Demon Clan members blocked Long Haochen’s path.

Just one glance was enough for Long Haochen to gasp. These two Moon Demon Clan girls, who looked no more than twenty years old, were both at the Sixth Rank.

Is this talent? Long Haochen smiled bitterly to himself. Although he knew that this was their innate ability and that these Demons were not as good as humans in post-natal cultivation, he couldn’t help but feel a little jealous.

“Please give the token to the Princess.” Long Haochen handed over his Moon Demon Viscount token and then took two steps back, standing proudly.

Seeing the token, the faces of the two Moon Demon Clan girls softened. “Please wait a moment, Viscount.”

As she spoke, one of them flashed, and Long Haochen felt as if a streak of purple moonlight had appeared in his vision. The next moment, the girl’s figure disappeared.

Before long, the moonlight shone again, and the girl had reappeared in her original position. “Viscount, the Princess invites you in.”

“Mm.” Long Haochen nodded slightly and strode inside.

The two Moon Demon Clan girls guarding the door looked at each other. One of them whispered, “Wow, he’s so handsome! It’s the first time I’ve seen such a handsome Viscount. Could he be our Princess’s future husband?”

The other girl said enviously, “Maybe. Only such a handsome and powerful clan member is worthy of the Princess. Look at his appearance, almost perfect. I estimate that he’s at least an Eighth Rank expert. And he should be able to reach Ninth Rank soon. He’s definitely not over fifty years old.”

The average age of the Moon Demon Clan was five hundred years, and fifty years was absolutely young for them. But like the Heaven-Defying Demon Dragon Clan, the Moon Demon Clan’s ability to reproduce offspring was weak.

Adjusting the Spiritual Energy in his body, Long Haochen entered the palace in front of him after confirming that his connection with Haoyue was normal.
